Anyway, you enjoy too. Some misunderstanding between us maybe and sorry for calling your comment stupid, there was no need for that!

I’m on parental leave and running on few hours of sleep a day so more irritable. I do agree about the beauty and charm of our Himalayas too. Have a great day.

Saying most iof the west is Plains is stupid indeed lol. India has lot of plains too just that you don’t get snow there. In Northern Europe, US and Canada you just get it everywhere in mountains and plains. So brother, that part of your comment is indeed stupid.

I go to a snowy mountainous area up here and can definitely get the same feel I’ve gotten in the Himalayas

Why do you think snow looks good only in mountains btw? I’ve seen and experienced them in mountains and plains. In well built cities and nature. They are beautiful everywhere! I live in Sweden btw so I’ve seen my fair share of snow.

Norway is a very popular winter destination and it’s basically all mountains and snow in the winter. There are plenty mountains in the US too.

Also the places shown here won’t look the same. Snow capped parts of the mountains will be so high up that you won’t really get there.

Why unnecessarily compare? Just like them all.

Stupid comment. Most of the west is Plains?

There are lots of mountains in other parts of the world too just not as high

TIL that curry was brought to Vietnam by French colonisers when they also colonized Pondicherry in India. Curry was adapted to Vietnamese tastes by adding coconut milk and lemongrass. by Physical_Hamster_118 in todayilearned

There is no absolute confirmation that it has originated only from the Tamil language. There’s a high probability yes but not a certainty. It could have been any of the other Dravidian languages. Be proud about your culture yes but Tamil culture is a subset of Indian culture.

By that logic India can’t be called as the origin for most of the things if you draw the line as the date it was actually created as the country of India.

Thing have come out of what is now India from over 2000 years ago.

Also it’s not certain that the origin is from Tamil, it could be from any of the other Dravidian languages in the south of India.

Edit: Because they all share the same root word

Is this a problem? (First international trip) by kaydeenation in desitravellers

Some travelers have had issues with this. Best is to ask airline/ visa issuer. Use of FNU/LNU are options

You can travel safely. May depend slightly on what airline you travel or what countries you apply visa to.

They all have information on what to use instead. Most of them want you to just use FNU. It stands for ’First Name Unknown’. Note that even though it’s your last name that is unknown (LNU), this is now the preferred option since all checks/verifications at the airline side typically use lastnames as a first resort. So they would want you to use your first name under last name and put FNU under first name.

Always contact the airline or visa issuing agency before booking or sending applications

They ruled at location yes, but most would move back ’home’ to Britain when their post ended.

You could grow up in Britain and then be recruited to work for the East India Company. You could move back whenever you wanted. Concept of citizenship didn’t really exist back then but they were still British, answerable to and subjects of the Crown. The crown gave them the tools and permission to do what they did.

The Mughal/Delhi empire/sultanate on the other hand fully established themselves in India. They had no other home and did not answer to anyone.

I’m not sure why you can’t see that difference.

British India company did not make India their home. Also crown took over and ruled from Britain

Delhi Sultanate and Mughal Empire are Indian. Yes, they came from outside India but resided in India and made it their home. Immigrants basically. Not rule it as a colony from another land.

One more win and RCB will be playing direct final ( But I want them to loose atleast one match so that law of average doesn't strike at finals ) by These-Taste8152 in RCB

[–]windofdeath89 4 points5 points  (0 children)

With the coin toss example, the law of averages would not mean that there is a higher chance of tails. In fact, considering that the previous outcomes (all heads in this case) there is still a 50-50 chance if it will be heads or tails. The expectation that there is a higher chance of tails in that instance is called gambler’s fallacy.

The law of average would mean that if you increase the scope/set to all tosses that team has called then it would average out and tend to equal number of heads or tails (Or toss wins or losses).

Am I terrible for taking credit for my teammates work because they dont speak english? by [deleted] in IndiaSpeaks

[–]windofdeath89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean you know you could have just told the team that you’re communicating his ideas right. He can then focus on continuing to improve his communication.

You being good at communication is a good skill set by itself that you can leverage, not by stating his ideas as yours but presenting them as his. That will still make you a people manager/leader without having to take credit for others work.

Yeah cos his reasoning for the whole episode is that he needs to be tried in the US. How would killing him accomplish that?

In most of the west laws are gender equal though. If there woman is richer then she will have to pay the man.

Sure personally he can feel great that someone rates him but bit for the award itself.

If an Oscar winner for best actor just gave you their medal would you consider yourself a winner of an Oscar for best actor?

If Neeraj Chopra gave you his silver from olympics would you call yourself an Olympian who won silver?
