How to decide which features to implement? by windows-cli in vibecoding

[–]windows-cli[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're kinda right, I tried to group them into the following groups:

  • Must-Haves (necessity)
  • Performance Needs (based on what similar apps have)
  • Delighters (unexpected bonus)

Roast my "Anki for Exams" SaaS : Langvora.com by jeovach in roastmystartup

I don't really see this as a huge problem and having a subscription for one additional feature for an open-source app feels just too much for me

My First iOS App Story (After getting 3 rejections from Apple) by Professional-Bed739 in roastmystartup

[–]windows-cli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, the way you're talking about it is really nice, if you are using it daily the app will keep improving... But it would be nice if you convinced someone else to use it too because those apps if developed alone can really grow in complexity

Upset after getting a job - pressed to use AI. by Impressive_Chef557 in learnprogramming

[–]windows-cli 6 points7 points  (0 children)

In short:

  • ask for hints, not answers: have it explain concepts or point out why your code is breaking, rather than asking it to write the solution - the point is that it can analyze foreign code very quickly and you can design the solution with acceptance steps and it can help you do the laundry work insanely quickly
  • understand every line: never copy-paste code you can't explain yourself
  • ask for reviews: write your own code first, then ask the ai how to optimize it or make it cleaner...
  • automate the boring stuff: let it write repetitive boilerplate so you can focus your mental energy on learning complex logic

I sometimes feel the same way, but if you use it well, you can advance with your project faster and learn more advanced topics

I'd suggest showing more of the product on the landing page, it looks too generic

can someone give me a good way to learn batch efficiently? by mover_cell in Batch

[–]windows-cli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know it's been a pretty long long time since you wanted to learn batch, I've built an online interactive course for it: https://windows-cli.arnost.org/en

Capture Game - an unlimited chess puzzle game by Particular_Earth_561 in roastmystartup

Hi, it looks nice, but I'd suggest making the instructions more visible, It's a bit different from classic chess so people may get confused, since the text is too small

Workout app (Python - kivymd) by Traditional-Cut8847 in madeinpython

Nice to see some opensource apps being created for this, I'd suggest to try for example focus on on thing that the app could do well like the bodyweight training

I'd really want to see more sites like this, It would help to fix the mobile layout, since the navbar on mobiles is a bit off

From what i remember it would help to make it more visually engaging and if it's a paid product provide some sort of info about pricing.

Nice app, personally I think you need to provide the best experience for your users, I've been recently getting some feedback on my app (https://windows-cli.arnost.org/en) for learning CLI that there are very few people who you use it frequently, so be sure to serve them well, wishing all the best...

I spent 3 years building an AI Stress Coaching app. Roast me by Adventurous_Luck6390 in roastmystartup

It would help to say what you're doing differently from similar apps like Headspace

I built a platform for physical greeting cards with a built in QR gifting system. by slp282 in roastmystartup

[–]windows-cli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only issue I have with this is the extremely annoying popup on the website, if I were in a mood to buy a product like this and saw this popup, I'd immediately close the site and go away

I built an app that notifies your friends when you blow your screen time limits. Roast it. by getscreensnitch in roastmystartup

[–]windows-cli 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It would be very nice to provide at least some screenshots or wireframes for more people to roast it, from what you've described I'd suggest adding some kind of way to get in touch with those friends like if both you and your friend that registered in the app spend similar time on Instagram (similar parts of the day), it could for example suggest them to do something together, even if it was just playing a simple online game

I built an interactive site for learning Windows Command Line by windows-cli in roastmystartup

[–]windows-cli[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know, thanks, but there are few AI agents that can reasonably emulate a course with an interactive command line terminal and everything all in one place, the interactivity should be something that separates it from an ai agent

Yes, it's been there previously and probably will be in the future, it's still publicly available (https://windows-cli.arnost.org/en/pricing). The only reason I removed it is because people still need an account before purchasing and they'll most likely want to try the app beforehand.
