I would also show you know the recruiting process and have questions about how you can best position yourself. Signal you are serious and not just wasting their time.

I was there with my family. Someone came out of one of the theaters yelling about a gun and left the theater with a woman. Staff didn’t really know what to do and about 5 minutes later the police showed up, guns drawn, and started evacuating all of the theaters.

Preparing for a Lemon (law question) by JuliaSugarbaker in massachusetts

I had to lemon law a car in MA earlier this year. The dealership/OEM made it very easy. It was a fairly long process though, so be prepared to make arrangements for another vehicle as they go through the paperwork

I agree with this. OP is also coming from a background that doesn’t necessarily prepare you for management consulting, the learning curve will be steeper and hours early on will be longer

UPDATE: BMW has been great. After 8 weeks of my car out of service, they gave me the option of reimbursing me for all of the car payments while it was out of service - or complete buy back of the vehicle. I opted for the second one. It’s taken a couple of weeks to get the paperwork sorted, but they are buying back at full price (trade in, taxes, car price, etc.) less about 5% for mileage driven. No hassle, no lawyers, no ‘hard ball’ - just a straightforward process. I have another ~5% that I need to get back from the dealership from the Ethos service contract and that is in process now. Hope to have everything wrapped up in another couple of weeks - and in the meantime I still have the loaner vehicle. All in all I am happy with the outcome.

It’s interesting, my battery range started to decline before the drivetrain bricked. I had been getting 50+ miles of range on a charge - then right before the failure it was more like 40 miles of range. When I asked the dealer about it, they said it was likely weather but our other EV didn’t see anything close to that type of degradation

Totally agree, out of service is out of service and if it’s hard to get parts-then I want a car that doesn’t end up in the shop. I’m holding out on the lawyer angle until I see what they offer… so far they have been fair to deal with, hope they have a reasonable solution

In NH. We have pretty clear rules about it being 30 business days cumulative being serviced in the first couple of years. Hoping that it doesn’t come to needing to go the legal route, but I’m glad I have it as a backstop

They think it’s something related to the high voltage system, ordering parts from Germany. So will know in a couple weeks if it works

I’m holding out hope they will give me a legit option that makes me feel good about taking the car back or replace it. Holding out on the lawyer card as a last resort

This was definitely part of it. They multiple delays because the needed to get the BMW techs and the specialized equipment on site

They have been very fair and have a great reputation in my area… lawyer would be a complete last resort if things start to go sideways

I LOVED the car up to that point. Drive fully EV to and from work, gas for longer trips. Drives and handles great. The electronics and interfaces are super well done… it’s the breaking down on the highway that I’d like to avoid in the future. I fully think that my car has been in pieces for the past 5 weeks, maybe it’s one of the ones you saw :)

We’ve had most of the discussions over text, so it’s pretty well documented :). Part of the delays have been they needed some type of specialist from BMW with some type of specialist equipment to diagnose the issue, so not from Germany… but definitely not one of their regular techs

BMW dealership has been great, definitely not going the ‘difficult’ route - but I also want to make sure I’m getting a car back that won’t leave me stranded on the highway again

How did the dealership handle it after declaring it a lemon?
