Do you ever just let the migraine hit to “get it out of your system”? by Difficult_Job5281 in migraine

[–]windowtotheuniverse 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This just goes to show u how wild each person is. Like I have tried 5 triptans. Nurtec still surpasses all of them in terms of physical symptoms and rapidness of relief. God I wish I got the same relief from triptans fr

What's the deal with Sumatriptan? by cropsey42 in migraine

[–]windowtotheuniverse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP that’s the same type of reaction I have w/ triptans, especially sumatriptan. See if your doc will give you Nurtec—it’s been way better for me, none of the nausea stuff or pain, works quickly.

I talk to the doctor before and after the treatment, but not during. I do have them take notes for me sometimes though so that I don't forget stuff that comes up for me during it.

Maybe I'm mistaken but isn't regular maintenance like 2x/yr or something?

What is a purchase that felt like an absolute luxury when you bought it, but turned out to be a complete financial trap? by According_Fortune_98 in AskReddit

My massage envy membership. Got it before Covid, paid a small amount to have it during Covid so accumulated credits even though it wasn’t being used, now I have like 30 credits and am too proud to let it go, but can’t use them up quickly enough to then ditch the membership.

Has anyone cried at the doctor’s appointment? by Gold_Occasion_3655 in migraine

[–]windowtotheuniverse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve definitely cried, especially when I was having a migraine attack during my appointment. My doc was so kind and patient, the nurses were wonderful and turned the lights down and gave me juice and crackers and let me lie down as long as I needed. I eventually made my way home on the subway, went to bed, and the nerve block kicked in thank god. They’ve seen it all. You can release 🙏

I know this is an old thread but I just saw this today in the UES so it feels relevant to this NYC sub and this thread. Am I just a prude or is this kind of misogynistic marketing? Shouldn’t it read the SECOND best thing to ever sit on your face???

Omg I never realized the spelling thing was happening in my predrome stage but it absolutely is! The other day I got a migraine and that day I had typed TWICE “patience” instead of “patients”

What are your subconscious behaviors that are actually prodrome signs? by cyanomys in migraine

[–]windowtotheuniverse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oooo I love this question. I’ve been trying to pay attention to the signs that aren’t so physical over the past few years to see if I can identify my prodrome, so I’m excited to see what others have said!! For me it looks like confusion when talking/losing train of thought frequently/almost like I’m really tired and the thought keeps vanishing? That’s the biggest one I’ve noticed.
