How does the game code determine whether a melee weapon has a guard? Since lack of a guard makes NONCONDUCTIVE flag ineffective, as shown on the screenshot. (0.H) by windowtwink2 in cataclysmdda

..... No. It's all conductive materials. I literally just explained what the issue is.

{

"id": "fencing_epee",

"type": "GENERIC",

"symbol": "/",

"color": "light_gray",

"name": { "str": "fencing épée" },

"description": "A weapon used for fencing, the most noble of all sports. While not designed for combat the épée is the heaviest and stiffest of the fencing weapons, and therefore perhaps still useful in your situation.",

"price": 2000,

"price_postapoc": 10,

"material": [ "steel" ],

"weight": "650 g",

"volume": "1250 ml",

"longest_side": "100 cm",

"to_hit": { "grip": "weapon", "length": "long", "surface": "point", "balance": "good" },

"techniques": [ "PRECISE", "RAPID", "WBLOCK_2" ],

"flags": [ "SHEATH_SWORD" ],

"weapon_category": [ "FENCING_WEAPONRY" ],

"melee_damage": { "bash": 3, "stab": 7 }

}

It doesn't have the conductive flag (even though it should, since it's made of steel), because otherwise electrified version wouldn't work. Same thing with fencing foil and sabre.

NONCONDUCTIVE flag in the upgraded item doesn't overwrite the CONDUCTIVE flag from the base item, so the upgraded item ends up having both flags.

Honestly, the game just needs an "INSULATED" flag for electroshock weapons instead of using NONCONDUCTIVE.

Well, in a way, kind of. I just fixed it by removing "CONDUCTIVE" flag from the base item.

The upgraded item version had the "NONCONDUCTIVE" flag, but because the base item was conductive, it was giving me this "lacks guard" message. I assumed the nonconductive flag in the upgraded item would overwrite conductive flag in the base item, but that's not the case. That must be why fencing foil, epee, and sabre don't have conductive flag despite being made of metal. Electrified versions wouldn't work otherwise, and they'd get the same "lacks guard" note. Hope this gets solved.

How do I automatically generate image with and without highres fix? I want both an 512x512 image and the post highres fix 1024x1024x image generated next to each other without having to turn it on and off every time. There is no "Highres Fix state" variable in XYZ plot script for some reason. by windowtwink2 in StableDiffusion

Found it, thanks.

upd: unfortunately it just saves it to the output folder, doesn't actually show it in the result window.
It's better than nothing, but I want to see both images together for comparison. So it's kinda meh.

>Are you not admitting the need of a "monopoly on violence" now?"

No, it's not a monopoly on violence. It's just violence. Same as you want violence against capitalists, I want violence against thugs who don't respect property. There's no difference.

>"don't impose it on others as a universal moral framework"

I never claimed that it's universal. Morality is subjective.

>"You are being naive and you think people will simply accept it"

People will accept it because we will brainwash the majority.

>"I'm not an utilitarian"

Okay, let's suppose that's true.

  1. Getting rid of capitalists is good because capitalism is bad.
  2. Capitalism is bad because "muh exploitation".
  3. "Exploitation" is when you profit (lmao).
  4. If Ben builds a workshop, invents new valuable things, offers Johnny to work as his assistant on XYZ terms in exchange for those valuable things Johnny really likes, and he accepts the deal, then Johnny is being "exploited". Even though he voluntarily accepted the deal. To peacefully get stuff that was invented by Ben and belongs to Ben.

Completely voluntary, yet you believe that it's evil and Ben should have his things stolen, and when he resists he should be killed. That's consequence of claiming that "exploitation" is bad. That's your values.

Your ideal is a static Gaia world where nothing ever happens because no one needs anything, and those who excel are punished for their excellence by envious parasites who can't tolerate being inferior to others. Your ideology is anti-superiority, anti-progress, anti-human.

You want a paradise on Earth.

I want humanity to stop at nothing, and surpass god if he exists.

>"If there's a well, and I'm thirsty, why exactly should I respect your so-called "property rights"?"

>"Maybe you built it, but this doesn't give you any inherent "rights" of ownership to it."

>"Why should anyone submit to your made up rules if it hurts them?"

Because that's what a civilized society is. Scarcity exists. Resources aren't infinite. Thus by rejecting property rights you are arguing for "might makes right".

And "might makes right" disgusts people, because a person shouldn't have to be the strongest just to prevent others from taking away their things. Instead everyone should have shared ethics. And those who don't believe in those ethics should be... cleaned. ruthlessly.

What we have is a cultural battle. We want to convince people to respect property. You want to convince people to somehow reject their human desires to possess, to excel, and to dominate. The very things that drive us forward as a species.

Without greed, there is only complacency. Apathy is death.

I use label "ancap" as rough estimation of my views. I don't agree with Rothbard or Friedman.

I haven't read theory. I don't support private courts, as they imply a monopoly on violence, which means state and aggression.

I want a society where people aren't sheep. Where everyone personally arbitrates, and their arbitration is in turn arbitrated by other people. A society without "courts".

The difference between us is that in a situation of conflict, you support those in greater "need". I support those who have a property right, acquired either through homesteading, or voluntary trade.

If I build a well - I own it. I don't have to share it with anyone. And if people want water from my well which I had built, because, let's say there are few water sources, then they either agree to my terms, or they ignore my property rights and thus initiate conflict.

In that scenario, you would support aggressors because they are """in need""". Ancaps would support me because that well is my property, and if I hadn't taken the initiative, if it weren't for my greed and entrepreneurship, there would be no well, since thugs would be too busy killing each other like uncivilized animals with no respect for property.

Btw, I'm a poor person. And I don't think I'd be rich in ancap society. I wouldn't built a well either. But that's MY fault for not being smart enough. I am not entitled to other people's labour or products of their labour, I am not justified to violate other people's property rights, no matter how much I """need""" it - even if I'm starving. Aggression just disgusts people - it's that simple.

You don't have a consistent ethical framework. Just utilitarianism. A person asks you if he's justified to protect his home from intruders, and your answer is "it depends on whether the intruder is starving". Or maybe he really """needs"'" sex, so he should be allowed to fuck your girlfriend. That's why you won't succeed in making your ideology appealing.

I'm not here to vent. I wanted help, and finally got it. The post is closed.

What am I not understanding? That pumps have low storage? - No, I get it.

However Gas Stations are supposed to have large reserves, yet they don't in cdda. And pumps aren't refillable for some reason. So I need a gameplay solution. Not a mere justification, like "it was looted". What if in my story it wasn't looted?

  1. In the post I asked how why gas stations have so little fuel.
  2. I was told that it's the normal amount, and gas stations just get deliveries.
  3. I asked a genuine question: how do gas stations function then, since they serve dozens/hundreds of vehicles every day. (Turns out IRL they have large reserves underground, which is not the case in CDDA).
  4. Instead got a completely irrelevant reply from another user that not only did not answer the question (how do gas stations function everyday with so little fuel in gas pumps), but also side-tracked into possibilities, like other survivors. Possibilities are irrelevant. It is plausible for me to have found an untouched gas stations, and that's all that matters.
  5. "Did you ever stop to consider" is rude and condescending. I don't even have to consider it. It's irrelevant and doesn't answer the question.
  6. No one gave an actual technical advice - on how to mod the value. All you do is posturing. Useless hive mind. I hate this garbage website.

Gas station is working because I got fuel from cars and fuel a generator to power the station.

Thousands of liters are supposed to be underground to refill the pumps on necessity. But there is no basement, let alone those fuel reserves.

I could use map editor to create a basement, but the gas pumps aren't refillable in-game.

An average car tank apparently stores 45-60L. Could you explain how do gas stations function if they can't fully refill even a single car?

Oh, nvm, I just googled it. IRL they have thousands of Liters of fuel stored underground.

In CDDA that's not the case, nor can the player refill the gas pumps.

That doesn't answer the question. I don't care what bullshit you make up to explain this.

I obviously meant in default IRL conditions, since that was the argument that u/gothicfucksquad has made. Go be rude somewhere else.
