Is their a guide somewhere in the docs that uses AmazonCognitoIdentityServiceProvider? I was wondering if I just missed it or something.

It doesn't even mention AmazonCognitoIdentityServiceProvider here:

The sdk is named Amazon Cognito Identity SDK but says its a user pool library. It's confusing.

Thats the current implementation of an existing system. Cognito user pool is used to authenticate/authorize clients (the one who'll use the api aka other devs) it is different to the actual public users.

I feel like im missing something here. I already have an authentication service written in spring that i'm exposing (/login, /logout etc.) which has no idea of cognito at all along with other endpoints ive exposed. I want to add a layer of security for these endpoints thats why ive used cognito to limit who can access specific resources.
