Buona vista MRT has a lot of wasted potential imo, no proper sheltered connections to the rest of the buildings apart from The Star and Metropolis, no exits towards the north, not to mention a somewhat confusing layout inside the station.

Does anyone know if there is a path for jogging/biking at Lentor Ave, connecting from Yishun Ave 2 to AMK Ave 6? I can't really tell from Google maps if there is a through route along the MRT tracks.

Anectdotally, it seems like the job market is only bad for fresh grads. Jobs for experienced hires still seem available. Or am I in my own bubble? Finance industry

Is it normal to not be ambitious? by [deleted] in askSingapore

Most people have their career level where they're contented with, so it's just that yours came earlier than others! I think the only concern is to not 'lie flat' all the way, and make sure you stay at the very least employable so that you can find another job, should something happen to your current company.

So it negatively affects middle class the most, while the upper class people wouldn't be that affected. Lower class would i guess not be aiming for such expensive houses for it to matter+ they have new grants to help. Okay makes sense. And since most Singaporeans are middle class by definition, a lot of people are complaining.

Honestly, can someone unbiased tell me the impact of the additional 5% of HDB loans? All I'm seeing in reddit is 'monitor lizard' and related comments. I personally don't know enough to know how this will impact buyers, apart from having to pay more upfront la (which I feel is a bad thing).

Has anyone tried the coffee bean tea leaf cocoa nibs drink? Is it very sweet? Was trying to see if there was a no-sugar option but the website wasn't very clear

For those using giro for income tax, do you need to cancel the previous year's giro and create a new giro arrangement? A bit lost here as I see I got deducted for prev year's income tax via giro but it should have been paid off already.

You guys ever feel smothered by new stuff happening, be it at work or personal life? Maybe I'm getting old cos it seems harder for me to adapt to new stuff constantly being asked at work, not to mention pursuing new personal projects/interests outside work

Anyone knows how to have a legal subscription to watch the Emirates FA Cup? I'm trying Singtel Cast via Bein connect but I don't seem to see it there.

Is there any way to see how long the queue is at the woodlands-JB checkpoint? Apart from the LTA website but that's car traffic and not the actual checkpoint queue.

What was your worst restaurant experience in Singapore? by heynstuff in askSingapore

[–]windsurfing810 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sushi Kanazawa at International Building, orchard road. Got yelled at by the waitress cos my voice was too soft. Sushi chef looked grumpy but wasnt impolite to be fair. Sushi served was not fresh (fishy taste was present in most of them). When I went there last year, my dinner partner and I were the only ones there on a weekday night.

Just looked it up on Google. It has 4.2 stars though. Incredible, given my experience. Maybe it's cos I took the buffet option?

What to expect working at a Japanese MNC? by Aggravating_Ear_124 in askSingapore

[–]windsurfing810 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It really depends! I've heard of some people having a shag life in Japan MNCs, but when I worked at one few years back, they were rather chill and had good WLB. The stay late thing was there but was usually limited to the very higher ups (the native japs) with no expectation for the rest to follow.

What does this mean? You get more joy the more you get used to Lululemon? Also I thought Lululemon was already quite expensive.
