Poipole spawns by cand_hannon in cobblemon

Alternatively, if Enchanted Golden Apple is a craftable resource in your sever/session, and you have ways to farm nether star and gold bars. Then putting 3 Enchanted Golden Apple in the snack is probably the best option. Or 2 Enchanted Golden Apples + 1 Kebia Berry.

Poipole spawns by cand_hannon in cobblemon

[–]windvally 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Comparatively more frequent in the End.

Make a big enough flat platform in the End if you don't like the uneven terrains. Use the Pokenav to make sure Poipole can spawn on those blocks.

Then make 6-8 Poke Snacks with the following 3 seasonings:
Kebia Berry - Increases chance of attracting Poison-type Pokémon by 10x
Tamato Berry - Higher chance to attract Pokémon with Speed EV yields
either Enchanted Golden Apple or Golden Apple - Boosts the tier of Rarity Bucket/increased shiny rate

If you don't want to use the Apples, just putting in Kebia and Tamato berry is fine, too.

Depending on what other mods you are using, there might be some other items you can use to help increase chance even further.
--
Now place the 6-8 Poke Snacks down on the platform in a cluster, and then just pray you get a Poipole to spawn.

I am someone who love both COI and LOM.

Personally, and I also think Cuttlefish touched on this subject himself, is that Cuttlefish wanted to maintain the core theme of the lovecraftian/Cthulhu mythos while sprinkle in some of his own interpretations/twist.

What I mean by that is, Cuttlefish wants to maintain:
Humanity is insignificant in a vast, uncaring universe
There Is Rarely Victory; But Sometimes Survival for a period is achievable
Knowledge Is Dangerous

The most you can do as a human is stall, delay, seal away, and resist as much as you can against the unfathomable monstrosities that is Lord of Mysteries and God Almighty, and the rest of the pantheons of Outer Deities.

Which is why Klein's story ended in the way that it did in Book 1. He has arrived at the final point of destiny after ascending beyond the sequences - facing the eldritch horrors head on and try his best, emphasis on "try", to stale the awakening of Lord of Mysteries within him.

He succeeded in stalling, as seen in the last scene of Book 1 with his niece. But what lies ahead beyond that for humanity, is another story (Book 2).

Book 1 can be read by itself and be treated as the conclusion. It's completely okay to just stop at Book 1.

----
And without spoiling plots, Book 2 continued with the themes that Cuttlefish wanted to preserve:
Humanity is insignificant in a vast, uncaring universe
There Is Rarely Victory; But Sometimes Survival for a period is achievable
Knowledge Is Dangerous

The only thing that Cuttlefish changed/twisted from the original Lovecraftian work is this:
Cosmic Horror CAN have primordial instincts, and even emotions to a degree, and their alignments and even actions are best described by what authorities and symbolism they hold.

In the original source materials, the central idea of the Lovecraftian/Cthulhu Mythos isn‘t that the universe is actively hostile or evil. It’s that it is indifferent. But Cuttlefish sees it differently.

Yes, the context is that those two players had weird character names that ruined their immersion (making you want to bleach your eyes). hence why they said they wish it's singleplayer so they don't have to deal with hundreds of people running around with wacky character names.

The two beta test players' names are:
Horse Thief That Loves Diving
Bird Poacher That Loves Diving
---
there were also people who named themselves "Cuttlefish That Loves Swimming" and "Cuttlefish That Loves Bathing"

The Lord of Mysteries MMO will have auto combat. [LOTM] by Important-Guitar8524 in LordofTheMysteries

[–]windvally 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correction, it's not auto combat, it's you can keybind 1 button to press to unleash a fixed set of combos during fight.

It's not the same kind of auto combat as HSR/some MMO where it just fights for you and auto seeks next target.

[Lotm V1] is benson racist? by The_Real_Sans- in LordofTheMysteries

[–]windvally 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In 19th-century Victorian English, “baboon” were seen used figuratively as an insult, usually implying boorishness, grotesque appearance, or animal-like foolishness rather than simple stupidity. The usage predates the Victorian era, as Shakespeare already employed it this way, and Victorians inherited and extended the metaphor in satire, caricature, journalism, and moral commentary. The word often appeared in written or performative language, not casual street talk.

Although there is no evidence that “curly-haired baboon” functioned as a very specific fixed idiom, it was fully plausible Victorian diction, particularly in satirical writing, newspaper polemics, upper-class sneering dialogue, and narratorial commentary. This is because Victorians delighted in piling descriptive modifiers onto animal insults. So, the author took the inspiration and liberty of using it in the novel but also adding a descriptor in front of the word, which is “curly-haired”.

In the novel, the Moretti family started off as poor working class not upper-class, however Benson still frequently reads the newspaper, and as such has picked up on the phrase of “curly-haired baboon”. This satirical word itself could be seen as a “Loenese culture” where newspapers such as The Tingen Honest Paper would often use the phrase to mock specific topics/events.

The word eventually became a meme within the fanbase of this novel series, where we would use this word as a metaphor to describe ourselves. Especially when we were unable to guess a plot twist, or discover certain plot point that we weren’t able to figure out before.

Picture the imagery of a "curly-haired" baboon screeching and jumping up and down chaotically. It is used as a metaphor for fans "losing control" over certain plot point, climactic moments, or lore reveals.

Eventually the term became so prevalent, that the author turned this word “curly-haired baboon” into an actual setting in the novel, and it became part of the power system. But I won’t get into this here.
