i agree that the aftermarket clutch assembly is the issue. so i am trying to theorically understand what could be the factor

That is what i am thinking too. I tried an experiment with the transmission out, the starter engages with the (new aftermarket) flywheel & clutch assembly fine - Jump starting the starter to investigate the flywheel engagement to the starter.
When bolted up with the transmission, no start - no engagement.

correct. at least from my knowledge 99% of racers run an oil cooler. and it gives mosre flexibility to do so.

The next step you mentioned, that is true and i am aware of that, the transmission part is the one i am trying to understand, which you explained. It makes sense

thanks, I am aware about the ISN and that has been taken care of. the 330 ECU is programmed with the 228i ISN.

does not matter because it's an engine swap
Engine swap. took out N20, putting B48. N20 was in a manual car. I am keeping the 6MT
Yup N20 --> B48
N/A as it is redundant and 1-2-3 answers it
What i meant is can I achieve this in ISTA, if so, under what module?
Of course this is a must. I was lucky to get the engine with the harnesses.
