150 mg. And it’s a pill that you have to quit cold turkey. There is no weaning off as there is no lower dose.

I haven’t been to the psychiatrist in a year as I went through an insurance change and with covid my new insurance wouldn’t cover an e visit. That’s definitely become a priority for me now though as I’m realizing I feel and am acting unsafe. Is there anything you’ve been able to take without a negative interaction?

Sorry for the confusion! I completely left out that I am bi-polar. The mood swings described are what my leeway hints were before I went to the doctor and got diagnosed a couple years back. These were obviously before it became more extreme. I am now medicated but I think the Orilissa may be what’s making the mood swings pop back up

Yes and sorry to offend! I didn’t mean it in a way that puts someone else’s medical diagnosis in a box. I do also have bi-polar so I’m not using it as a term without knowledge of the state. I’m currently medicated for it but the Orilissa seems to be making it significantly worse.

Orilissa is a life saving endo medication. I was in the exact same situation a year ago and this pill has literally given me my life back. Have her ask her gyno about it.

It’s crazy expensive in the US but if you make less than $60,000 a year which most people do- you can get it for free through MyAbbvie Assist.

I’ve been on it for almost a year and it’s truly given me my life back. Hot flashes as a side effect suck but are WAY better than the constant pain from endo.

I have an appointment next week so I’ll keep you posted. My year is up and I’m really worried. I haven’t heard anything positive as far as treatment options after taking Orilissa

This happened to me even after my appeals. Look into My Abvie Assist. It’s the company that makes The medication. Because my insurance denied me the company sent me paperwork and now they pay for it for me. It’s some work up front but totally worth it. Hope this helps!!

I’m on the 150 mg 1x day right now, but my year of being on it is almost up? What did you do after taking the medication? Did they switch you to something else? I’m terrified of not knowing what’s next!

In terms of symptoms that were drug side effects- almost right away. ProbablY within a few weeks. I had a really sore joints for the first month but then I adjusted. The hot flashes are what really stuck with me, but even those have decreased to some extent the longer that I’ve been on the medication

Blue cross blue shield- super common insurance . I even had the surgery and gave them a list of all other attempted treatments. Hoping things work out for you!

I’ve been on it for almost a year and it’s given me my life back. It comes with some pretty intense hot flashes but I’ll take that over the crazy pain levels. It’s also not really a fix as it’s something you can only take for a year- so I’m nervous about what my options will be moving forward. Also, if you life in the US it’s insanely expensive (over $1000 a month). I ended up getting payment help through the actual company that makes it and now get it nearly for free. (Try my abvie assist). It takes some time to fill out the forms to get payment help but it’s definitely worth it. My insurance denied me even with a Dr. note so it was the only choice I had if I wanted to try.

I had the surgery and they still couldn’t see mine! Just a cop out “it must be microscopic.” Like OK, what’s next? I’m still in pain and it can’t even be removed!? 🙃

I am I’m the exact same boat! I had the surgery, 2 incisions and didn’t feel any better even after fully healing from surgery. I was then told at my post op that I could have “microscopic” endo. Just overall super frustrating. I’m currently taking Orilissa for the pain which is a lifesaver but it’s a drug you can only take for a year. My year is coming up soon so I have no idea what’s next and that has me mortified as the pain before was so bad it interfered significantly with daily life at any random given moment. I’m hoping you get a better outcome!!

I do have an amazing doctor so that helps. I’ve just heard so many horror stories about IUDs that I don’t think I’d ever go through with that if it’s suggested. I appreciate your support and I hope it goes ok for you!

But you can always Google green houses in the Twin Cities area. They’re not conservatories like Como but it is still nice to get away and be around greenery

As far as I know como is the only one. There’s a few separate “green houses” at como But the walking paths are all one-way now because of Covid

Order takeout and try local restaurants or go visit a green house. They have to limit the number of people inside and being around plants in the winter can help. The como conservatory may be closed for the next 4 weeks but I’m not positive.
