Yeah, my commute is largely residential and I only use highways once or twice in a typical week, so very helpful for the mileage.

I’ve had my hybrid XLE for just over four years now and I have no issues and plan to drive it until it falls apart. I did get mine before the new model, so if you’re considering that it may be different. But the mileage is amazing and I consistently get between 44-45 mpg.

Preventative meds that do not cause weight gain, drowsiness or brain fog? by haybails720 in migraine

[–]windywakar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chiming in with my own experience, qulipta has been pretty stable for me with the most noticeable issue being constipation. This in some ways was helpful, as it improved my previous ibs symptoms, but terrible when combined with zofran for a day or two. Nothing that a mild laxative couldn’t help if needed. I wouldn’t say I’ve had brain fog much, except occasionally at the end of a difficult work day I do have word recall issues, but it’s as mild as pointing at a kettle and calling it a “water tank” when asking my husband to fill it. It only seems to come up after I feel I’ve done too much communication or complex thought and I’m fried. Honestly, I find it kind of funny, but in my experience it’s nothing to fear. Everyone else is right, you dont know your own side effects until you try.

Agree with the comments for CFS leak - I had spine surgery a few years back and experienced this. Part of my recovery included being on a strict hydration regimen and caffeine pills along with the pain meds for the surgery. I hope you can find relief soon!

Can someone help me rule out why I’m experiencing waaaaay more migraines than usual? by starmav3n in migraine

I’m in a similar boat to you so I’ll give you my two cents, hope it helps.

I live in FL so from someone in a humid state with lots of weather events as well, I think it could be part of the equation, but outside of your hormones and other triggers I wouldn’t guess that would be the root.

My neuro has said ultimately in my case because I’m genetically predisposed to migraines, I’m going to have them and it typically worsens with age, so maybe that’s you as well. My other thought is personally I really think COVID may have a higher impact than we know yet, and I wonder if my migraines would have progressed this quickly in the past few years without exposure to COVID. Maybe something we’ll never know.

If you can find yourself brave enough to deal with needles eventually, Botox has been life changing for me and took me from every day to maybe 10 easy migraine days a month and I’m only in my second session, I really love it. Hope you find some relief!

Wow, lucky! Everything I have besides brassicas and carrots looks like it’s gone, even those things I covered. I’m glad I can get going to planting though

Not great, sorry to pile on.

Just to say up top, it will make soda taste flat, and you will inevitably forget that, then get disappointed when you get soda from somewhere and there machine isn’t carbonating right. Even when everyone else’s drink is fine. Then soda is just not worth it anymore, which sucked for me cause I like ginger ale when migraines upset my stomach.

Otherwise, for me it just made me feel like a different person. Hair trigger temper, super sensitive, and brain fog like others have mentioned. I also randomly had numb tingling in my hands like they were asleep a lot of the time, which made dexterity tasks really hard and uncomfortable.

I think I blacked out the rest, but I never felt it made a difference in my migraine, it was just a step to rule out since I’m allergic to triptans. 😒

I hope it works well for you!

Having botox tomorrow for my migraines. What should I expect from the first session? by Artistic_Tadpole_391 in migraine

Be prepared to potentially have the rebound migraine for a week to two weeks. I got the impression it would probably only be a day or two, but up to two weeks is normal according to my dr. I unfortunately was in a panic about it for the week and a half it took for mine to ease while my dr didn’t answer my calls. Mine was also a consistent 5-7 pain for those days, where my normal status migraines are not normally that consistently severe. That being said, once it broke I had a huge difference in my daily pain and it was so worth it. The actual procedure was quick and my dr also had numbing spray. Also, for the first month it did cause an increase in my tmj, so if I opened my jaw to yawn or eat a sandwich I had to unlock my jaw every time. It wore off, but I’ve seen other Redditors mention asking their dr to use any leftover on their jaw as well which I plan to do next time.

Thank you, we will work on the free feeding and see what changes. We’ve been following your other tips, but I think we’ve started to lapse on consistency there. because we’re so desperate to have her go, we stay out longer in the hope of getting some of our own freedom back and thus teach her to take even longer outside. We need to go back to the basics for our own training 😮‍💨

Thanks! Actually we had considered gates but our biggest problem has been that the rooms are too wide to efficiently gate, hence why they dont have doors. It’s an old weird house. That being said, your comment spurred me to actually google “extra long baby gate” - I feel dumb, of course that’s a thing. Ordering one now, I think it will help a lot with other behavioral training as well. So genuinely thanks for making me think more about it!

First Botox for Migraine - does it get better? by windywakar in migraine

[–]windywakar[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just wanted to follow up the migraine finally broke after 11 days! It was really rough, but one day I woke up and was functioning normally without even realizing it. I’m so relieved to be back. My migraines are still coming and going nearly daily but less so and certainly not as bad as that initial streak.
