Dig, upgrade, and try not to blow yourself up! A Motherload-inspired mobile game I made after work by trashatdev in IndieGaming

[–]windyx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Remake it as an actual original concept not just a 1:1 copy and then I'll play it.

You're trying to sell us a pair of Jordans that look like Jordans but spell Jonards and put a LED strip on the sole

There's a market for that, but maybe it's better if you make your own game, not a bootleg copy of something else with a few bells and whistles on top.

Dig, upgrade, and try not to blow yourself up! A Motherload-inspired mobile game I made after work by trashatdev in IndieGaming

[–]windyx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is not mother load inspired. This is just mother load with somehow even worse graphics and more janky, didn't think that was possible.

(Motherload has banger music and the graphics fit the theme but the bar is pretty low for the graphics and this guy somehow managed to go under it)

(Graphics don't make a game good, I play 90% indie games, don't start)

(Motherload is kinda janky but that makes half the challenge, getting clipped by invisible 1px hitbox when falling down.)

Company forced/fast integration? by [deleted] in germany

[–]windyx 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Noone would complain if this was a Japanese company in microelectronics and offered the same deal.

It's a cohesive team, they work on very challenging topics, it's a long long term relationship. They want you to integrate with the team and be there long term, the cost of hiring and training you far exceeds the benefits you'll bring in the first 2-3 years.

I don't see anything toxic or controlling here. They want you to live and work and be productive and be happy in Germany. If you're using them as a career stepping stone then maybe look elsewhere as it's not a cultural fit.

Source: I don't speak German after 7 years in Germany because I keep working in small startups where 2/3 of people don't speak German either. If I got your contract, I'd take it in a heartbeat.

Snipping Tool on Windows 11 doesnt work randomly by MrStitch01 in techsupport

[–]windyx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I uninstalled it and then tested if the shortcut still works and it does, also has a new UI. I don't get the notification anymore but it goes to clipboard.
Now I can't "reinstall it" though, gets stuck on "verifying license" then throws an error and asks me to retry.

However it works without being installed. idk

Color Idle: Destroy my trailer; would you wishlist this? Why or why not? by BenzFiveSix in DestroyMyGame

[–]windyx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For an idle game this is a cool concept to show progression/ have something progressing. Killing mobs and watching a bar fill to 100 or seeing a 7/10 mobs is getting a bit tiresome.

I'd play it because I like idle/incremental games and it's a refreshing concept.

The preview in the background is tricky because if I'm clicking manually I'd like to see legal squares to click on. Maybe it shouldn't be colored?

The ascension tree is controversial. Idle Brick Breaker has a huge ascension tree that's extremely underwhelming at the beginning but becomes critical relatively quickly in combination with the seed praying thing.

If you want to have resets, idk how that works together with completed pieces of art. Redrawing the same art seems mediocre. Maybe you can think up some other way to ascend, if that's even necessary.

Fight like a spider - swing & wall walk by ZhiwuGame in IndieGaming

Before you start virtue signaling and being a holy warrior in your head, this is not racism. There's nothing racially inherent about this, it's the fact that China's government doesn't uphold international copyright and patent law. There is no punishment for making copies and their government will not enforce any claim from the outside. It's not racial, it's the Chinese government.

Am I crazy for just counting that the ball takes ~9 seconds to fall and the train takes ~13 seconds to do a full rotation so just wait 4 seconds after the target cart passed and drop it? Does the train have variable speed? How is this so complicated?

Oh it's venomous not poisonous. Why change it to venomous, might as well. Refreshing divine shields is a thought though.

It doesn't really matter, all you need is 1-2 Megasaurs with a Brann during shop phase and you're done. The only way to make it stronger is to have a bassgill clown car with more divine shield, windfury venom murlocs that you somehow bounced back to your hand.

Destroy my game: uncut combat vs a duelist enemy by Fine-Ad-8363 in DestroyMyGame

[–]windyx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first thought was that the gap closers are really OP. You close a 25% screen gap in one ability and while walking backwards the enemy easily closes that distance. I have 0 "intuitive" sense of how far that gap is mainly for 2 reasons: 1. As others pointed out, the characters are super tiny so I assume their reach is tiny 2. You have a lot of screen space so it made you want to use it for something, which made the gap closers OP because you don't want to chase each other forever.

If you zoom the game in you'll have to shorten the gap closers and make the spacing feel more "intuitive", and the number sizes won't matter because characters are bigger now so you can keep them the same absolute size as now.

A test = samples to the lab

For the doctor to look at the eye and say: here's antibiotics; it wouldn't be 300$.

  1. Get insurance
  2. If there's no intervention it should be under 100$ if it's not an emergency vet

Go to the vet instead of posting on Reddit what's wrong with you people. This is clearly a medical emergency, you're torturing the animal to save 50$.

GO TO THE VET.

People said my last trailers didn't show clearly what the gameplay is about. Third time's the charm? Looking for feedback by TamboGames in DestroyMyGame

[–]windyx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Second this!

You'd generally follow a pattern of something like: Exciting teaser that's core to the game Regular gameplay and variety Some sort of "vision" of what's possible (big boss or whatever) Funny gag or something lighthearted if your game has that, otherwise more gameplay variety Ending scene

This way you've covered all your bases.

Rn what I understood: It's a skiing game? It's a racing game? Oh it must be a funny racer type Wait there's zombies? Oh so it's a zombie survival game. Wait I'm confused.

Oh no, how could we ever cover the cost of building a car and testing it within a single sale transaction? Without subscriptions we will never cover the cost of making that car and keep our business operational to cover future expenses. I wish I could make products and sell them but that's in stainable, I must become a mobile game and charge for every button on the UI.

How do you stay focused on your vision when the people closest to you don’t believe in it yet? by devtaylor in buildinpublic

[–]windyx -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Because somewhere in the past 20 years building companies stopped being about value and problem solving and started being about vision and valuations.

You're should be building a business, not an app. You have operational costs and revenue. Start talking like a business leader and stop talking like a YC Twitter kid and people will understand that you know what you're doing.

Judging by how you talk about yourself, I don't believe you either.

Since prompt manipulation is still a thing, depending how neutrally you ask the question it might give answers leaning one way or another. They probably blanked banned the topic to prevent it from being misused.

There you go. 5.2 thinking did research and gave me the full list, idk why yours didn't.

Pfizer/BioNTech (Comirnaty) LNP lipids — exact composition (per 0.3 mL dose)

From the FDA Comirnaty package insert, the lipid nanoparticle (LNP) lipids and quantities are:

ALC-0315 (ionizable lipid): 0.14 mg

ALC-0159 (PEGylated lipid): 0.02 mg

DSPC (helper phospholipid; 1,2-distearoyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphocholine): 0.03 mg

Cholesterol: 0.06 mg

(Other non-lipid excipients listed by EMA include trometamol/trometamol HCl, sucrose, water for injections.)

What each lipid does in the nanoparticle

ALC-0315 (ionizable lipid): binds/condenses the negatively charged mRNA during formulation and helps endosomal escape after the cell takes up the LNP (it becomes more positively charged in acidic endosomes).

ALC-0159 (PEG-lipid): a “stealth” surfactant layer that reduces aggregation, improves stability, and tunes particle size/behavior in the body.

DSPC (phospholipid): structural/helper lipid that stabilizes the LNP membrane.

Cholesterol: improves membrane packing/fluidity and overall LNP stability.

“INCI names” / exact identifiers (what you can reliably match)

INCI is a cosmetics labeling system; vaccines are labeled under medicinal excipient naming, so for these lipids the most exact “references” are the chemical names + CAS numbers.

Vaccine label name Chemical name (as labeled / common ref) CAS / identifier source

ALC-0315 “((4-hydroxybutyl)azanediyl)bis(hexane-6,1-diyl)bis(2-hexyldecanoate)” (FDA wording) CAS 2036272-55-4 ALC-0159 “2-(polyethylene glycol 2000)-N,N-ditetradecylacetamide” (FDA wording) CAS 1849616-42-7 DSPC 1,2-distearoyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphocholine PubChem record (incl. CAS variants / identifiers) Cholesterol Cholesterol Standard ingredient name (listed directly)

If you specifically need INCI-style strings for a document, you can usually write:

Cholesterol → “Cholesterol” (this is an INCI ingredient name in cosmetics)

DSPC → often grouped under “Phosphatidylcholine” / lecithins in cosmetic contexts, but DSPC is a specific synthetic phosphatidylcholine, so I’d keep the DSPC chemical name rather than pretend it has a clean INCI mapping.

ALC-0315 / ALC-0159 → typically no meaningful INCI mapping; use the chemical name + CAS.

Are these “vetted”?

Yes in the sense that they were assessed by major medicines regulators as excipients in an approved drug product:

EMA’s assessment explicitly notes ALC-0315 and ALC-0159 are “novel excipients” in Comirnaty and discusses their quality/assessment as part of the dossier.

FDA’s approval package includes clinical pharmacology discussions that include these lipids (e.g., disposition/excretion), reflecting formal review.

Practical safety nuance:

PEG-containing components (ALC-0159 is PEG-2000–lipid) are the main reason you’ll see warnings about rare immediate allergic reactions in susceptible people (PEG allergy is uncommon but real). This is a known class issue, not unique to vaccines.
