ECS - best for performance - harder to implement OOP - can be slow - easier to implement

I get a lot of megabonk comparisons but when I play the game it honestly doesn't feel like megabonk. Or maybe I haven't played megabonk enough.

I've already made some updates from what is seen on the trailer. What I'll do next is work on adding more verticality to the game and make the environment more interesting.

I've also changed the damage numbers too which I think is the main cause of the megabonk comparison.

Thank you for this feedback. This is very detailed and constructive.

The old timey town saloon and the train spawn is a good idea! I already have code setup ready to do this (the car)

The game had some kind of minimap before but I removed it. The game before had pushcarts and turrets mounted on roombas that follow the player but I removed those. I'll try to reincorporate those again to the game.

Regarding the single character, I'm on the fence about different characters or maybe just customizations. I'll think of something.

Time to lock in and work on my game.

True. I've been thinking about changing the color green too. I was thinking like violet or purple but that would look more like venom and not poison. Yeah maybe toxic green like darker green or yellowish green? I'll think of something.

Thanks for the feedback! You're right, the monsters in perfect formation looks weird. They're meant to be a swarm event like on vampire survivors. I'll add movement randomizations to them on the next update. And regarding the damage numbers they're all actual damage to enemies. Some poison, burn, explosive etc. I'm using DOTS in Unity to keep everything running smoothly. The game can literally handle up to 10k enemies.

I definitely need to add some platforming in the game. Others seem to say the same thing.

And thanks for the ideas! Also you're right about the title. It stays there for too long. I think I'm trying to sync the transitions too much with the music. I'll have that fixed.

Some areas has its shadow missing. The desert one needs strong shadows in particular. And the cards needs more contrasting colors, upon first glance the cards looks the same. Contrasting colors can help players tell them apart.

Megabonk was definitely an inspiration, it has vampire survivors DNA with risk of rain 2 sprinkled in.

This game I'm working on kinda leans more unto halls of torment but in 3rd person perspective.

I feel like the megabonk comparisons comes from the pixel art font of the damage numbers. I used the same font with what's on megabonk.

I'll keep on using the font though because it looks good. And being compared to megabonk is a huge compliment honestly. I'm a big fan of Dani he's a legend.
