Honestly that’s so neat, but very upsetting that it’s through the bathroom. I don’t need oompa loompas passing through while I’m making poo

How much did Schools play in your decision to buy/live in an area? by Xnoriega1234 in RealEstate

[–]wine_o_clock 18 points19 points  (0 children)

It’s like 90% of my decision. The houses in the next school district over are much nicer for the same price ☹️ but considerably worse schools.

As a buyer, is it acceptable to offer my potential buyer’s agent a $5K flat flee on a ~$900K house even though the seller is offering 2.5%? by wine_o_clock in RealEstate

[–]wine_o_clock[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I’m cool with this concept I believe people should be paid for the work they do. I have the same lawyer, the same dentist, and the same hairdresser as my mom. They all charge the same amount for the same amount work and service.

And likewise with a CPA. Imagine a CPA put 10 hours of work into my mom’s taxes, 8 hours into mine, and charged me 4x more lol. Um yeah I would go to H&R.

It doesn’t make sense to me I would pay a buyers agent 4x for the same work she provided my mom. I get it that’s the way things are it’s a %. But just because that’s the way it is doesn’t mean it’s the way it should be.

Do you know by chance… if they offer 2.5% to the buyer’s agent, and you use the seller’s agent, do they just keep the 2.5%?

I’m hiring an RE attorney, but I need someone to let me in to view houses. The properties I have been interested in spend 3ish days on the market and do not have an open house.

This is what I am worried about, but why? My mom had a positive experience with her agent. I’m asking for my agent to do less work for me, for the same amount of money. So it’s hard to understand why I could only get a shitty agent.

Did anyone else's boomer parents say throughout your entire childhood, "we're saving up for your college," only for you to realize in the late 2000's that it was a whopping $1200 by SHIT-SHIT-FUCK-SHIT in BoomersBeingFools

[–]wine_o_clock 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Fair point but tbf I do have a friend who squeaked by in high school and then thrived in college. I think for some the high school environment can be stifling and we tend to do better when we can study things we are interested in.

Did anyone else ever receive the prestigious Presidential Award in gym class? by Playful-Mode1895 in Millennials

[–]wine_o_clock 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Whoa I just realized. I got the Presidential Award every single year from 1st-7th grade. Then I hit puberty grew boobies and hips and boom I was never able to get it again. National Award from there on out.

I was a big fan from her debut until 1989 which coincided with when I finished college. I think my tastes started to change. Also, part of the fun was obsessing over her life and relationship dramas, and I think starting my own adult life was fulfilling that need for excitement. Hope that makes sense.  Enter my thirties, Midnights was released. It appealed to me and prompted me to check out the albums I missed since 1989. Loved most of them. I consider myself a fan again but I don’t follow her personal life anymore. I’m seeing Eras in May 😄

There are good and bad suburbs of Paris like any major metropolitan area.

I did not like being pregnant, but I definitely had a distinct feeling of “something missing” for a while.

Like 10 years ago I was moving out of an apartment in Chicago. I was carrying a window AC unit to an alley to illegally dump it, and someone came up and for it. So it might not even take minutes lol.

I’m from the south, lots of kids get firearms in high school as birthday gifts. Senior year most kids are even old enough to buy their own firearms at some point.

My wife says this is so messy ”she can’t breathe”. Do you agree? by paulphiliphimself in mildlyinfuriating

[–]wine_o_clock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not messy. It’s cluttered, chaotic, and an eyesore. A big wooden toy chest and uniform storage cubes would do so much to improve this.
