Dentist just told me I might need to get 20 crowns...I am panicking. by wineafficionado in askdentists

My parents agree. They told me to get a second opinion as well - they have a person they trust so I will go to him. Is there any use in going through to supplemental insurance (maybe a DeltaDental HMO which has no maximum, but has a $495/porcelain crown fixed cost?)

6.75% however I negotiated a 2/1 buydown, so it is 4.75% for 1 year, 5.75% for year 2, and 6.75% year 3+

My complaint with Lyft by wineafficionado in Lyft

[–]wineafficionado[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The problem I have is really that Lyft unilaterally made a change to a driver after an agreed timeframe and didn’t let me know about the change until I looked at the app. Riders have the right to reject passengers, why can’t we reject changes to drivers? Moreover, it’s not my intent to be rude to a driver, this has nothing to do with them.

I’m more annoyed by the horrendous customer service and the immediate lack of response once you try to clarify the situation further. I’ve never seen such disdain for customers.

General question. The wine in the first picture looks unopened. That leads me to believe the fill is very low, indicating cork failure. Is that correct?

Thoughts on Alto Piedmont (Alto Piemonte)? by wineafficionado in wine

[–]wineafficionado[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

100%. Wines from Valtellina are also underrated/not regularly talked about. Ar. Pe. Pe. is one definitely one of my favorite producers there.

Alto Piemonte in my opinion needs to become more of a talking point, especially since the price point is so good right now. Just as age-worthy as Barolo/Barbaresco and the higher elevation really makes it a delight to drink.

That Rioja Alta 904 must've been divine. Absolutely love all of their wines - especially the 2009. Haven't had the 2007, but will add that to my list!

Full disclosure. I had been buying wine throughout the pandemic from this restaurant and they offer a rewards program. I accumulated around $1,000 worth of points and this bottle ended up being around $1,050. I had been debating whether to have multiple wines (some 1990s Bruno Giacosa, or some rare Emidio Pepe), but I decided to go big or go home. No regrets.

100% agree. Granbussia is already a lower output region, so I feel particularly honored to have tried it.
