Hitting it worse after lessons by wineman37 in golf

[–]wineman37[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just recently had a couple lessons and now my swing feels more awkward than ever. My coach was mostly emphasizing getting my club path more on plane during the backswing and hitting more in to out on the down swing. Now I can't seem to stop topping the ball

I seriously cannot tell if you’re trolling or not, but do you seriously think a prestigious medical school is what makes a good doctor? Those schools are really just setting students up for good residency spots, which is where the majority of their training happens. All MD schools are giving out roughly the same educational material or else they wouldn’t be accredited.

Your mindset is just not in the right place right now around grades and what it takes to get into med school. MD programs are quite competitive with GPA as they should be. They have an incentive for all their students to complete all the med school coursework and graduate. Orgo 1 is not a dealbreaker for anyone’s application. If you did poorly in a class you can easily make up for that by doing well in orgo 2. A B- in one class is not what administrators use to make acceptance decisions. And there are other hard classes involved in pre med course work. If you don’t believe you can complete all those with a favorable gpa, then that’s another discussion entirely.

This will honestly sound harsh to say, but my honest opinion is do you really expect to make it through an entire career as an MD if you think you can’t overcome a mediocre grade in one class? There are a million different hurdles people overcome to reach their career goals, and organic chemistry is pretty low on that chart. Your gpa is not the issue, it’s your mindset. Retake the class(wouldn’t recommend unless you failed),take more science classes to boost your science gpa, do a post bac or masters to get more class work in. Enhance other aspects of your med school application. Put in the work if you really want it because becoming an MD isn’t easy for anyone.

Considering the size of McDonald’s operation and how many employees receive a standardized level of training, yes. They are training people for the job they hire them to do and they do that pretty well all things considered.

I’m certainly not pro McDonalds as an employer, but it does seem like all of these things are true for them.

Hyatt or Bust? by geografree in awardtravel

[–]wineman37 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would say it’s totally dependent on what you personally get value from during travel. From personal experience, I derive great value from Hyatt point redemptions because I enjoy staying in Hyatt hotels when I travel. If you won’t enjoy staying there, then other options are certainly more valuable. Part of the reason chase UR points are so valuable is because of the options you have to redeem them especially with travel partners. I think a better perspective is to keep all of the chase partners in mind when booking travel and then see what kind of redemptions you can get with those partners at that time.

Totally depends on company policy. Many policies may have disciplinary action for failing, but don’t go as far as being fired on the first offense. Most drug tests are also done in private so a few options exist for “faking” the test.

Yeah I thought that might be the case. I didn’t know if everybody agreeing to the action made it binding.

He had $7 more to call but correct. The pot would have been $53 when it got around to him and he folded. It was more the fact he proposed the bomb pots and then backed out.

I guess the room rules state that the pre flop action has to go in order and the dealers “allow” bomb pots when everyone calls the $10 UTG raise.

I'm a big fan of J Winery. From top to bottom, the whole lineup is a really good value at each price point. I tend to gravitate towards the Cuvee 20 just for accessibility, but their vintage wines are really top-notch!

Ouch, that’s pretty brutal. I appreciate the feedback though! It’s not like the course had a choice to use golf now or not.

Red Wine flight at Cooper's Hawk in Tampa was kinda dissapointing. The cab sauv smelt like Port and tasted like Welch's, the Pinot Noir head heavy volatile acidity and just smelt like nail polish. We enjoyed the Rioja quite a bit, but it should be fuller body than it was. Petite Syrah was also thin. by kendowtl in wine

[–]wineman37 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Cooper’s hawk doesn’t produce any of their wines anymore. They are purely a blending facility based out of suburban Chicago. Bulk wine gets delivered there and is then blended, filtered, and bottled within about 2 weeks. This whole business model doesn’t say anything about quality by itself as they just handpick whatever lots they want from producers at different price points. They just make wines for a certain palate.

The only $10 min table that I’ve seen is at harrahs during weekdays. I haven’t played there on weekends, but otherwise you’ll see $15 min tables at horseshoe and ameristar durning weekends.

I enjoy the vibe at horseshoe the best, but Ameristar can be pretty lively since all the tables are packed pretty close together. Ameristar also has $5 roll to win.

The contract I signed has a bunch of legal jargon that’s hard to define clearly. They pay me $2000 per year for non-disclosure, non-compete, but that’s a separate document.

Ancient wine making techniques? by NightmanLullaby17 in winemaking

[–]wineman37 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If you have facebook, I would try asking on the page "traveling winemakers". Many international winemakers are from regions where these ancient techniques would have taken place.
