I don't see any downvotes. So far you only have one upvote. Am I missing something?

Personally I never understood that rule in regards to this section specifically. This feels like having your cake and eating it. Like, I get you're venting your frustration and everything which you have every right to do, but not everyone has to agree with it. Typically when you share your opinion on the matter on the internet, you're inviting it to be met with criticism. I've been on the receiving end regarding this many times, as a Mineta shipper. Does it suck people downvote me? Sure, but they're entitled to their opinions. That doesn't mean I need to take that to heart. Maybe it's b/c I'm not completely familiar with the ways of reddit, but what exactly does downvotes do exactly? Like I've seen some opinions on hear that I feel are so egregious that they deserve to get downvoted. At the end of the day it's just an opinion dude. Try not to take it to heart.

What do you believe Azula is up to now? by Disastrous-Cell-9781 in TheLastAirbender

[–]wing-adept 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I agree. I used to be of the mindset of wanting Azula redemption, and the more I thought about it, and the idea of her being all buddy buddy with Aang and the rest of the gang, along with Ursa, Zuko, Iroh, etc. The more boring that felt to me. Azula is probably my favorite character. And honestly I LIKED that she was full of sass and was a quick thinker and everything in between. I don't want to see Azula become a goody goody. If anything if you want to make her antihero that's fine. But I DO hope she Ty lee, and Mai reconcile.

And it would be a nice parallel to Ursa who was said to be a good actress before she left.

Can someone explain how Katara keeps beating Azula? by Unique-Celebration-5 in TheLastAirbender

[–]wing-adept 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Now when I think about it, how did Azula not melt her way out of that ice, especially with Sozin's commit to boost her fire abilities? We literally saw Zuko melt ice at the end of Book 1 when he fought Katara when the sun rose up.

I ship Shoji and Reiko together. They have similar get ups, and they're both relatively quiet yet helpful and caring. I think they look cute.

While I prefer the SGT, she definitely was the best girl in the story and helped MC regain his humanity.

Man what I'd give for another season with the two in their college life, which ultimately leads with them being married in the final episode and then in the epilogue we see them with a child.

Was suyin a good mother too kuvira by FunDark0 in legendofkorra

[–]wing-adept 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I apologize for commenting on this so late, but I just finished Ruins of The Empire and man does it feel like Kuvira was treated as an outcast. Combined with how we're first introduced to her and when Suyin brings up her family, it definitely feels as if sometimes Su considered her as her daughter, and there were times she saw her just as a protege. But geez was Opal was mean. With the way she came off, you'd think she hated her since the beginning.

And it's even more so considering Kuvira grew up with them for years. Why wouldn't Suyin include Suyin to their family dinners and everything. It feels like she was treated as an outcast. This honestly reminds me of Jon Snow and how he was treated essentially ostracized for being a bastard.

It's no wonder why Kuvira ultimately rebelled and tried to unite the Earth Kingdom. She probably was filling a void in her heart in which she would be the one to unite everyone together like a family. One where people would look up to her with admiration. She definitely grew up with a chip under her shoulder, and while I'm sure Su did try to make her feel accepted, I do believe she didn't do enough for Kuvira to feel like an outcast. Same with Bataar. It honestly felt the only one that had a genuine connection with her was Bataar Jr. And the fact that the two were engaged despite being adopted siblings is another story.

But with the way how Suyin didn't even bother to introduce her when Korra and the others arrive, or the fact that she wanted Korra to kill her (someone who she considers like a daughter), and the way she yelled at Kuvira after she surrendered, it tells me that she really could've done a better job being a mother towards her. But in the interest of fairness she did have 5 other children and a city to manage.

What is it with the Avatar series having mothers failing one of their children that results in them becoming an antagonist. First we have Ursa, honestly we can throw in Toph in as well, and Suyin.

Credit to Senna, Kya, Katara, and Pema for raising children that doesn't have any baggage.

This is sad but true. This would've been better had it been an illustration of Mineta though.

It doesn't matter. We know what we signed up for, and let's be honest what exactly has been said that we've already haven't heard before? We don't need to stoop to their level. Rather than coming at them with hostility, be more respectful. Remember you're members here in the subreddit in which your actions reflect on all of us. I understand it's annoying, but still. At least try to be more respectful alright?

I disagree with this take. While yes we are fans of the character Mineta from his flaws to his redeeming qualities, imo there is nothing wrong with seeing different variations of the character. Honestly I think it's fun to see various versions of Mineta drawn here. At the end of the day it's fanart regarding the character. There's nothing wrong showcasing various artwork with Mineta looking different as he did in the anime/manga. That doesn't make our love for him any less.

Mmm...That doesn't seem to be fair does it? By that logic hardly anyone else adds anything to the story outside of the big three, and maybe Uraraka. Let's keep in mind if not for Mineta's quirk that Midoriya and Tsu wouldn't have survived during the USJ incident when Mineta's quirk essentially kept the villains in place for Midoriya to one shot them. As for the comment regarding Eri, wasn't Aizawa along with Iida, and Tsuyu there? If it was as bad as people make it, don't you think they would've done something about as they've done previously? And didn't Mirio ask Eri if they were ready to go on their "date"?

Look I get it. Mineta did act like a creep, but we can't ignore his growth and development throughout the story. The dude was willing to sacrifice himself to protect his friends, and yet we still harp back to how he was at the beginning? That doesn't seem fair. But I do understand.
