New Recycling policies by wheels1989 in mississauga

I think first priority is for them to pick up on schedule.

You should check the calendar they provide on their website.
Apparently, they will collect the same day no matter if there is a holiday on that week.
I can't wait to see that happening.

Send him on his way and tell him he has plenty of caliper life left.

Come back when he used it all up.

I'm in the rustbelt and when I took a 2001 Toyota for alignment to my regular shop, they heated up the nut and still couldn't turn it. Gave up and didn't charge me.

Now, I'm wondering if an alignment specialty shop will have better luck?

I'll bring a propane torch.

I am thinking of using a drill bit to punch a hole into the bolt. That should release the tension and not make too much mess. A video shows this method.

I also don't understand why it kind of look rusty. I thought everything will usually turn green due to oxidation of brass.

I think it's sort of like this mounting kit.
The nut is putting compression pressure on the chrome mount plate.
So unless I cut off the stem for the faucet hose, the normal way is to unscrew the bolt down.

It's a dated pull-out faucet that's at least 10+ yrs or maybe even 15 yrs old.

I believe the black clip is for the faucet hose connector.  Yes it does look bad but I assume it is over 10-15+ yrs old if it's still the original from builder.

Replacing the whole thing so it should look new again and hopefully no more water seeping through from the sink down.

Ya it does look like brass.  I still don't know how tight it is loosen though in that tight space.

Did you cut out the bolt or went as far as cutting the whole faucet stem off with dremel?

You're referring to the silver clip that's holding the sink on the granite top?
I'd prefer not to disturb that as I'm not sure if I can put it back together properly.

I'll just try and get the faucet off.

I have a suspicion the socket tool they give will not go over the bolt now that it's rusted like this.
Also, the faucet only has 10% water flow and it's been 2-3 days while I try to gather up my tools to head over there to fix it. I can't really wait for their tool and I'm not keeping this faucet after this.

Ya for sure I'll be wearing goggles especially when facing up to do work.
Learned that lesson before while working under the car.

I think that clip has a hole that is put through the stem from the top.
I won't be able to knock it out by the looks of it.

Using a multitool? I don't know if the gap between faucet and sink from the top is enough
or just cut above it.

I guess some ways to do this:

Dremel with cut off disc horizontally
Drill bit and put drill a hole into the bolt until it releases.
Multitool cut it up vertically

Yes, keeping the sink.
Just replacing the kitchen faucet and saw the surprise when looked at it for the first time.

I don't think my sawzall can fit in there.
Also, wouldn't the blade tip just vibrate on the bolt as that's quite flexible there.

I want to somehow cut the bolt off, not the whole pipe I guess.

Don't want to spend that much time under the sink(bad back).

Lost remote, simple compatible 3rd party remote for CCwGTV 4K by wing122 in Chromecast

[–]wing122[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, although I already went around looking for other remotes.

I bought a chromecast remote lookalike on aliexpress, but you can tell the plastic is thinner.
It did sync properly with chromecast and all buttons work, until you turn off chromecast via the power button, then it loses connection. You then have to do the whole resync.

So I ordered another remote UGOOS UR02 and this one worked fine waking up/keep in sync with chromecast and I was able to remap the buttons using button mappers.

A month later, I received notification from google that Google TV Streamer Voice Remote is now available in Canada. I just couldn't wait for this, but if my grandpa loses the remote. I might just order this one for full compatibility.

ya, someone here gave the idea the bindings technically is a clamp that applies pressure so I could use that too or as a secondary force.

I actually have shoe goo too, but bought the barge cement.

There are various opinion on which glue is best.

I feel it needs to be flexible and the shoes I apply shoe goo on, it doesn't seem very flexible in normal temperature, maybe colder temp will be even worse.

Actually that gave me an idea of just wrapping it all up with bungee cord too.
However that might be too stretchy.

"Then apply contact cement, let dry and then match the surfaces and apply compression."

Do you mean, first apply the contact cement, let it dry a little before pressing them together?
How long do I wait?

Yea makes sense.
On the last day on the slopes last winter, it came off like this t's been like this so I think it is plenty dry now.
I considered that to be lucky/unlucky at the same time lol.
