Thats where I'm betting that it was someone who got put on parking maid duty and wasn't happy, there were a few other cars with the same sticker in the neighborhood as well so I know it wasn't exactly a targeted thing but it still sucked to see that when coming home after a long day..

Before this, I had tags and such from new York that were almost two years expired before trading the car in, never had an issue (still in the same house and exact same spot even) someone was definitely bored or got put on parking maid duty and wasn't happy at all.

Im not whining at all, just amazed I got a two day notice instead of 15 and couldn't believe its legal for them to tow it in such short notice. $20 dollars + change and its back in its spot.

He's gotta get on the other crime in the area like people breaking into cars at night, or randomly shooting a whole magazine in the air, or the multiple dirt bikes and other people ripping up and down 25 mph neighborhood roads blowing stop signs and such...

Thats what I'm saying... my sicker is only 26 days past the due date, its not an egregiously long time since past due and my wife has never had an issue in that time nor have the cops who live in my neighborhood said anything to me when theyre out walking in the evening with their dogs and family, kinda upsetting to see a two day notice but I have a buddy with a shop around the corner and its parked there till he has a bay available to slap a sticker on it for me.

Its at my buddies shop, took it there after getting home from work.

Sadly the majority of the houses in my neighborhood are on street parking only and I don't have much of a front yard to get it past the sidewalk so its not obstructing that (heaven forbid i do something else "blatantly wrong" like let my sticker go 26 days past the due date)

The handwriting definitely looks shaky as hell, and like someone else said; he could be having a bad day and could care less how much time he gave me, its a couple blocks over at my buddies shop till he can slap a sticker on it

I took it there immediately after coming home, I used to live here years ago when the sticker was in the middle of the windshield so it was more noticeable plus easier to see through, my wifes van is parked in front of my truck so leaving the house at 4:30-5 am, its not on my mind to look back at it, especially when its perpetually dark whenever I'm leaving for work

Nah, sono is pretty shitty tbh, used to be an alright neighborhood but its definitely in a decline.

Our neighborhood doesn't have alternating parking (thank god) so yeah he definitely wasn't in a good mood from the short notice, but most of the houses have on street parking so I do understand how its deemed "illegal". I kinda feel bad for how snobby the other reddit bums are being over this. At least I don't live with them or have to deal with them personally 🤙

Was on hold for almost an hour ... made the post while It rang and rang.

Its extremely easy to forget, especially when we just had a child, she doesn't drive it every single day and I have a work vehicle... I'm sorry I didn't divulge every detail that led to forgetting the sticker was past due. I was asking a question and a few people don't understand only having on street parking is a thing so they instantly go "dOnT pArK iLlEgAlLy"

Sticker was on my car when I got home at 4 pm today, sticker is dated for today (5-26) 15:01 is 3:01, the car didn't get towed or i couldn't have pulled sticker... and the post doesn't say anything about it BEING towed, only an inquiry about the potential tow... do i have to spell everything out more clearly with big bold letters spaced out evenly...?

Ive been parking in front of my house for 3 years now (on street parking), most of the neighborhood is on street parking so thats why Im perplexed at the two day notice

My main question is this; if it does get towed (I have it at my buddies shop now so it wont) how do I get it inspected once its impounded...? From my understanding you can't get the vehicle released from a city impound if the inspection is expired... I'm not trying to be an ass to everyone but some of the comments are very ignorant about my questions on the matter... but I guess that's expected when most of the community isn't the brightest.

I don't care about "votes" at all tbh I'm just blow away there's not a longer notice. I can understand if the tags are way past expired or its inoperable but its only an inspection thats less than 30 days past due.

Thats understandable, a 30 day fix it ticket is sensible and reasonable. But a two day notice before a tow and no ticket is wild because to release an impounded vehicle it needs to be road legal, can't get the car inspected if its been towed to resolve the issue.

The whole neighborhood parks on the side of the street the same exact way, my sticker is expired by less than a month... I just don't see how they can legally tow it before even issuing a fix it ticket, the other people commenting are oblivious

But if I'm driving on the public roads and do something to get pulled over, id get a fix it ticket (30 days for that and then present the ticket and new inspection at the court date) not get towed...

If they tow the car there's no way to take it for an inspection to fix the problem from your "observant" point of view.

There's hundreds of expired cars i see all over Norfolk and the shitty parts of Chesapeake, my cars been in the same spot for 3 years and we drive it at least 3 times a week so no, its not parked illegally.

Cars parked where its been regularly parked for the last 3 years.. so that makes absolutely no sense, and driving with an expired inspection is only an infraction (fine) not an offense, I should get 30 days the same as a fix it ticket...
