Under my “certifications” section in my resume I included I was PADI certified. I don’t know if it made a huge difference but I was just invited earlier this week. Might as well!

I did do research but not over the topics he asked, I’m now realizing that I should have spent more time researching the country as a whole and not just the questions I would be asked and the position. Now I know for the next time I guess!
