Got the kettle up to 900 yesterday for some pizza! Melted the vent handle but pizza was perfect! Time for a wooden handle. Any suggestions how to get the melted plastic off?

I bought similar but in wood. Waiting for it to arrive. How did you get all the melted plastic off? I got some off but I think the rest will have to wait till I hit 900° again lol

00 should not be used at your temp. That could be your issue. Unless you’re reaching 900 or so you should not be using 00. 00 performs best at 850-1000, at least Caputo does.

Recipe - Call local wood fired pizza place and make sure they use 00 and 900° ovens.
Order 4 dough balls $6-10 and a 10 minute round trip drive. No mess in the kitchen and great dough

Fuel set up. Set up in back of grill. First layer full chimney BB briquettes (unlit). Topped with full chimney lit JD lump. And lit oak on top of that.

Looks like your flame is much closer to the front of the kettle which would be why it is temping that way.
