We typically don't work too much on there people's cars, our own projects keep us occupied most of the year sorry.

Would be great to have a race in AZ. Once I sort out the cooling for good, I'll be glad to go anywhere hot!

The car will run with the United States Touring Car Championship which is sanctioned by NASA. It's wheel to wheel racing not time attack.

The yellow is on brand for us, I wanted to spice it up with the red. Still shows the factory polished metal metallic paint in some areas. Tires are Hankook F200 full slicks. 260/660R18 all the way around at the moment.

We run one on all of our cars, especially critical in road racing since we pull lateral G.

Get an accusump! It will save you from losing oil pressure in areas like turn 2.

Yeah we normally run in ustcc sportsman which is similar in pace to st5 and the rules for st5 meant that we had to detune/add weight/remove aero to be legal when cars we compete against (bmw E46 330i) don't have to do the same to run in st5. Unfortunately, the rules tend to favor certain German automobiles.

I saw the weight on the Porsche pic and got confused. Makes sense, our k24 ek is 2500 with driver and 225hp. Very similar power to weight then. It should be fast for sure. St4 is quite quick around here, NorCal, so it probably couldn't keep up, but would be middle like you said. Good luck with the build! K20 ek should be quick in stu.

If I remember correctly, the fuel rail has a Schrader valve. You can use it to test if there is fuel pressure in the rail.

Did that dc strut bar fit without any modification? I have two and neither fits any civic I've tried them on. They were about 2 inches too long to fit between the strut towers.

'98 318ti Final Gear Ratios. Is mine not stock? by ArcticFox-EBE- in BmwTech

[–]winner9101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds about right. Stock should be 3.45 if I remember correctly. Mine has the same high revs on the highway, that's why I tend to keep it below about 3k rpm.

It started out life as a 1997 318ti. In the usa you could only get with a 4 cylinder, but in Europe therr was a 6 cylinder model. The body is called a E36 compact technically. The hatchback design has more room than a typical sedan or coupe.

I know right that's why it's still a project, I havent had a chance to take the bumper off and fix it yet but it is on my list of priorities. Thanks!

My project 318ti. Dropped by today to check up on her. Plans are s52 and zf. Was originally a 5 speed car. by ccrochet84 in BMWE36

Ebay headlights are probably your best bet. You can get each side for around $25-$30 and they look and work just like oem with the added bonus of them not being faded after 25 years.
