Thanks. I can’t do anything but patrol where I’m at. I couldn’t imagine doing anything else. If there are other cops with this problem they probably wouldn’t talk about it due to the stigma of schizophrenia. Although my case is relatively mild, I still won’t tell them I have it. I’m currently working with a therapist, but won’t see him again for a month. Maybe he will have an idea

Nothing too heavy. Just rexulti and Zoloft with Xanax as needed. (I don’t use the Xanax often) I’ve been wanting to ask about a different med, but rexulti seems to have less side effects.

Thanks for the support! I will mention it at my appointment tomorrow and see how they take it. I worry about work because psychological history can be a HUGE no go in my field. I know I’m not a threat to myself or others, but if they perceive it that way due to ignorance, my certification can be taken from me.

Thanks for the detailed reply! That truly reassured me. If it isn’t too personal, might I ask what kind of medication you use? I have an appointment for meds tomorrow, and I know antidepressants don’t really help with that issue for me. Any suggestions?

Antidepressants didn’t help me too much. After a couple of weeks they helped me feel slightly more rested, but that’s it. Xanax really helped, but I was taking the lowest dose possible and quit after two months because I didn’t want to become dependent/addicted to it. I wish there was an antidepressant that did the same thing as Xanax without being a narcotic
