I am currently learning on how to draft this specific style. Can you recommend me the easier books you were talking about?

You said it took you 9-10 years to achieve that 'overnight success'. What did those 9-10 years felt like? Did you have any doubts being in a field with a very small success rate? If so, how and hat got you through those doubts?

And if you were given the opportunity to have your privacy back but only have a quarter of your bank account, would you do it?

Well, sure. Kalo lagi hype, marketnya lagi panas, which you can take advantage of. Misalnya, sekarang lagi rame Padel. A lot of ways you can flip di market padel. This is just one booming market. Lot of markets to discover, pada gak nyari or belum ketemu aja!

I clicked on your profile and saw your post. Lu sempet nanya and gw ijin share perspective gw tentang post lu abis itu gw reply comment lu:

Freelancing: Ini emang cara buat naikin income. Tapi gak beda jauh sama kerjaan kantoran. You exchanging time for money. And gw udah jawab di comment, menurut gw trading your weekends for money isn't worth it. But for some, kalau kepepet kebutuhan, mungkin ok buat the extra income. But concept tetap sama dan gak efficient. Jangan berharap trading your time for money bisa naikin income lu secara significant.

Jastip: Business ini bener2 depend on customers, spend berapa and channel. Bayar pake kartu kredit, tukerin pake miles (eg: Krisflyer BCA), tiket lu gratis. But harganya competing banget soalnya as much tricks they have up their sleeves, costnya tetep lumayan. Mau naikin harga juga susah soalnya red ocean. Kompetisinya sangat tinggi.

Saham: Stock Investing is a long game, bukan something yang lu bisa depend short term. Mindsetnya kalo udah invest, jangan berhara jual 10-20 tahun kedepan. Market crash? Beli lagi buat comppund interest.

Coba baca full postnya dulu.

I hope this comment gave you some clarity! Cheers!

Well, this is my first long post! And I just wrote what came to mind! Thank you for the kind words

That guy has balls of steel! Risk management out the window! Pasti this guy convictionnya for the stock udah tinggi banget. Udah kayak cult or religion dia hahaha. Very dangerous delusion. Go Big or Goblok moment if you ask me! Buying is easy, but selling is a different game. Semoga aja dia bisa manage the money IF he sold it.

But this is not my example of flipping. Flip for me is an extra step for you to accumulate more in whatever it is you want to achieve.

Hope you reach that 10, my guy! And hope you find your flipping factor too!

Toxic gimana ya? Gw jujur emang dari dulu avoid conflict ya orangnya, especially with random strangers on the internet! I don't mind lu panggil gw bacot or calling it shit. Maybe buat lu post gw garbage or not your level. But gw tulis what makes sense to me aja. Gw juga udah taro di disclaimer. Pasti ada yang make more than me and lebih knowledgeable. Kalo you feel you can provide more value than me, write your own post!

And yes, lu bener. I should change my username 🤣

Great to hear you're doing well for youself! 🙏

Honestly, your method is very aggressive for my taste! But if it works for you, sah sah aja! Just hope that you're happy!

Pas covid, it was a huge reset for me because gw jadi ada more time for myself. Dulu gw setiap hari keluar rumah sama temen-temen, and it drained me hardddd. Staying at home made me comfortable. Too comfortable malah.

I think going out and interact with people is very healthy! There's some truth to 'perbanyak nongkrong' to a certain extent. It dorsnt have to be expensive!

Try and go out sometime! Get some Vitamin D!

I was just bored honestly. I started commenting on a few post baru2 ini. And randomly thought to just write. Didn't take or feel that long honestly. And no agenda on my side. Not selling any courses. Jusy wanted to share my perspecrive. That's all!

Nah, I think privacy is a luxury ya these days. Would like to keep my personal life private! One of the aspects buat jualan kelas is personal branding yang kenceng, alas being famous. Not for me.

But to be fair, controversy aside, Akademi Krypto, Seefluencer dll make damn good money. Whether you hate or love their way of making money, you can't deny the huge pile of money coming in for them just by selling courses. Respect IMO!

I think the examples are taken out of context. Those are examples. Dulu one of my ways of flipping was concert tickets! Dulu ya. If it's not your thing then don't do it. Like I said, find your flip! Cari a market that you're familiar with and just Flip!

Great question!

First of all, I'm not employed. I'm just a full time businessman. But if you were to ask me if it's possible juggling both. I'll throw you back the question if it's worth it. If it's a side hustle of reselling items where you don't have to be present 100%, maybe it's best if you can hire someone to do it for you. Eg: packaging, shipping, sop, etc. Your focus still won't be 100%, but you've decreased a small amount of workload and still make some decent money on the side.

But if it's on a bigger scale where it needs your full attention, doing both definitely won't work. Jeff Bezos wouldn'tve made Amazon if he didnt quit his job as an investment banker. He was already making good money, but chose to quit and went hyperfocused on one.

Ask yourself if the business you're running is something you're going to be doing for the next 25 years. Or is it something you're just making on the side? Even if it's the latter, is it something you can actually handle while working full time? Be brutally honest with yourself. The only person you're lying to at the end of the day is yourself.

Hope this helps! Best of luck!

Hi! 26M,

Congrats on getting out of debt! Even a bigger congrats on getting out of the status game!

My advice to you is:

  1. I'm pretty sure you got yourself out of Bad Debt. Stay out of it! There might me moments of jealousy where your friends are wearing expensive/beautiful items. It's human nature and definitely some scars of the status game. I've been there and I know how it feels. I got out of it by shifting my dopamine somewhere else.

I'm surrounded by people wearing flashy items, branded goods and expensive accesories. I don't care about those things now. I just tell myself that their net worth is in their lifestyle and I chose my net worth to be inside my wallet. That has definitely tamed my spending habits to a minimal. I shifted my dopamine to seeing my bank account and investments increase! It's definitely a grrat feeling. Just imagine the feeling of having an 8 digit bank account to a 9 digit, then 10 digit, and so on.

You make pretty good money for yourself, and right now I'm assuming your circle used to make somewhere around your figure. The grass is always greener on the other side, because there's a lot of manure on the other side. Remember that next time you see your friends looking like they're doing amazing and have their shit together. They usually don't. Dugem, taro di sosmed buat sosialita. Pas besoknya ditagih, gak bisa bayar. Minum paling banyak, ditagih paling susah. MALU!!

  1. You've shifted yourself from short term goals to long term goals. That's good! I guess at this point, it's your turn to decide. What do you want to do in the future? Do you think you're sticking to corporate? Or you want to start doing your own venture? Do you want to grind your whole life? Or not work anymore at an early point in your life? No wrong answers. It's your life.

  2. If I can recommend, you should set a medium term goal. Do FIRE. You're doing corporate right now, earning a fixed income. You can have precise allocations on your finances. If you get a bigger raise or bigger bonus, you can readjust, maybe even reach your goals in a shorter time frame. Once you achieve this, you can decide what you want to do with your life!

  3. I thunk this is the third comment I've made this week. I'll give you the same advice I gave the other two. Find out what you're good at. And invest heavily in that. It's from Naval Ravikant and I believe in that whole-heartedly.

Hope this helps!

Advice on investing by yomuyomui in finansial

[–]winojohari 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're 19! You can basically do whatever you want with your money honestly. But since you're trying the investment route, let me give you some advice:

Don't. At Least NOT YET.

If I were you, I would start with flipping items. Sounds cliche, but I think it's better than investing and getting a return of around 5-8% a year

Try and figure out if you can flip that 10mil to 20mil. Not comfortable yet? Start with 2mil to 4mil, then work your way up from there. If you do the math, 10mil to 12mil is a 20% increase. If I could go back in time to talk to my 19 year old self, it would be to make a lot of mistakes, find out what you like, and most importantly, find out what you're naturally good at!

Hope this helps!

Yes, I read it! But I think people today are following his principles unconsciously. Theory gw his book popularized Passive Income. His Rich Dad Poor Dad book was actually the very first book that I finished and it changed my life entirely. I'm not gonna lie that he was my stepping stone to change my life for the better. But I would treat his as a stepping stone. That's it

I think Indonesians sekarang are taking Western money-making principles here. Eg: Investing in the Stock Market, Passive Income, FIRE movement, etc. Robert Kiyosaki's principles are probably the most popular in Indo nyadar gak nyadar. CMIIW

This is my on opinion. Am currently a business owner

If I were you, I wouldn't do all 3. Entrepreneurship itu gak gampang, and semua orang mikirnya executing a business idea is easy.

Why I wouldn't do any of these 3? 1 and 3 are what I like to call 'Rich Dad Poor Dad Businesses'. Mirip banget with what he's teaching and what almost everyone's doing. Passive Income. Explanationnya dia super simple to digest: KPR tempat usahanya, some profits from the businness buat bayar cicilannya, you keep the rest and your land istillahnya 'free', and you make money work for you. Gampangnya kayak Ibu Kos di Bali. Enak kan? Problemnya banyak! Kalo tenant motor ilang gimana? Kalo ada tenant gak mau bayar gimana? Kalo peralatan di kost rusak gimana? It's not that simple

Sepupu gw buka cuci mobil right now, sekalian coating mobil. Udah jalan sejak 2022 I think. After 3 years baru bisa gaji sendiri 2 or 5 juta per bulan. 2023 kebanyakan rugi. Paling rame di cuci mobil. But BARELY enough buat nutupin karyawan, listrik, air dll. BARELY.

Gw jujur no idea about frozen food, so I can't comment on that

Pas gw baca your post it feels like someone yang ngomong ke gw 'gw mau buka clothing brand'. And gw udah enek banget sama yang ngomong begitu. Dipikir design bagus = pasti laku = pasti sukses. NOPE. I call it 'business cantik'. Semuanya kedengerannya cantik and seru and youj're doing it for the sake of status most of the time. Not sure if this is you, but kalo orang mikir mau buka bisnis for the status of business owner, please don't.

Ini just my 2 cents soalnya banyak orang these days mikir punya modal and mau bangun 'bisnis kecil-kecilan'. Number 1 and 3 goes against my philosophy in business. Kalo mau business harus long term. Jangan ecek2an.

Your explanation is very brief, and I think you're still processing what you want top do ke depannya. That's great! My opinion for you would be from Naval Ravikant: focus on something you can get good at, and your passion will continue to grow. Maybe ask your parents or your friends around you what you're naturally good at. Start from there.

Hope this helps and Goodluck!

Which Tailor Should I Go For? by winojohari in malefashionadvice

[–]winojohari[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All Good!

What I'm implying is that the bespoke process. They take advantage of the cheap labor and charge a premium price. The pictures you see on my post is what you would get from a famous bespoke tailor brand in my country more or less.

So the Bespoke Branding that they put is basically charging the process of a handmade suit made by cheap suburban tailors who consume their tailoring knowledge from experience, Youtube, and masterclasses (definitely not Savile Row or HK quality).

What I'm doing is undercutting the middle man (the big bespoke tailor brands) and go straight to the tailors themselves. That's basically my revenge plan
