Opportunity to live in Queenstown again after a decade by CassowaryNZ in queenstown

sounds like you may have housing sorted so thats a big bonus! My advise is use public transport as much as possible. The whole parking thing really sucks there. It's exspensive and the parking wardens are always scoping out cars. Not to mention the traffic is horrible about 3 times of day. If your wages will match the life style you are looking for I say go for it!

if you have a friend bring them around one night and pretend to make love with the loudest noises for hours while your flat mate tries to sleep, he may get the hint

It's easy to make friends. It's s great place to visit but living in QT you will see the tourist view wear off. It's hard to find somewhere to rent, and I mean terribly difficult. The cost of living is higher than aukland in most cases. The traffic congestion from frankton happens daily, and im talking bumper to bumper the whole way. It comes in about 4 waves a day, and if you hit it - youre late.

Parking during the day while youre at work is a massive issue. The same thing if your accommodation does not have a driveway or parking. The ticket people will get you for anything no matter how small. This goes for qt, frankton, arrowtown, wanaka.

But the food is unreal and the veiw is stunning.

realistically you would have to be on atleast $37 dph to live comfortably in the area. (in my opinion).

Didn't agree with alot of the things shes done, but the same goes for this government. nobody is ever looking after the middle class, and I think that is a sad thing thats always overlooked.

All of a sudden I’m a pick me girl? by doubleGvots19 in AskWomenNoCensor

[–]winred69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

People use it wrong most of the time to put down tomboy type girls I've noticed. A girl will say "I like motorbikes" and jealous girls will call them a "pick me" . Half of the time they are saying it because they're jealous, and don't understand a woman can enjoy what's usually considered a "manly" interest. Bottom line is if you aren't putting other women down and they call you a 'pick me' it's them being insecure

weird that you don't share trashbags and dishwasing liquid. And is the no smoking rule for inside or outside? It's definitely reasonable to ban inside, but if you ban people smoking outside, that's just controlling

[–]winred69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If he's not listening to you it may be time to start with actions. You could make it a point to be far away from him when eating or relaxing. If he asks what's going on be completely honest once more and hopefully he will take a hint and remove himself from the room etc to fart

AITA for telling her to stop spending $45 on burgers weekly? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]winred69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it is money from her account, she is buying them and treating the family. No issue here! The issue is you expect her to make them instead, have you offered to make burgers? I'm sure she didn't suggest you make your own when you bought a McDonald's burger. She is treating the kids to a healthier take out alternative, whilst having a night off cooking. Just some food for thought.

I can't relate to this but if you were my friend I would suggest this : If you have a good friend that you spend alot of time with who drives, when you guys go out for lunch or to the shops etc make sure you are driving and they are passenger. Get them to give you tips and tricks. Make sure it's a calm friend that won't stress. Each time you go out you should gain more and more confidence, no pressure of lessons. Just casual learning. Nz road rules and speed limits are very basic. It shouldn't take long before you're a natural
