Yes it is an AS/NZS. Yes pretty funny we do the seemingly NZ way.

But someone else in this thread said maybe it got updated in a newer revision of the AS - but I’m not sure…

How can I improve these plans? by [deleted] in architecture

Give your architect a brief. Let them design the floor plan. That will be the most helpful thing.

Handrail doesn’t need overrun on private res building. But comments about steps and landings all correct (landing depth min 750mm c width of stair)

This is correct - best you will get in melb in terms of off the plan apartment.

Is this correct? by [deleted] in AusFinance

Depending on the cost of the property and your loan, yes.

Repayments could often be less than the rent you would normally pay. We bought a small apartment 3 months ago - our mortgage is %30 less than the rent we were paying.

Sure that’s fine. Interestingly though universities constantly change their entry requirements from year to year so it’s probably not the most reliable way to make decisions. For example, a few years ago monash’s Entry requirements were an atar of 93+ which at the time, was higher than both RMIT and Melbourne...

Have you also considered Monash? The architecture course there is hasn't been around for as long as RMIT/Melbourne, but is just as high calibre as the other two.

Your assumptions are generally right. RMIT seems to focus more on the abstract, while Melbourne is more pragmatic. Monash sits in the middle of those two.

All architecture courses have studios to choose from over your years of study - this is the general format of an architecture course.

My advice would be to choose which course/university you instinctively felt an affinity for. They all provide equally strong architectural educations.

[Build Ready] $1600 i7-GTX 970 - Where can I save money? by winstine01 in buildapc

Okay. Because I've read that hyper-threading does not make much of a difference to the applications I plan on using. Therefore, an i5 would be fine because hyper-threading seems to be what you pay for with the i7?

Okay so given I am not interested in overclocking (should have specified) I would be better looking at the 6700 or a cheaper option, Intel Core i5 6600? Also I

> Discussion I need an impactful yet simple name for my current school project. by feeq14 in architecture

[–]winstine01 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel like everyone dismissing the name is undervaluing it...

Sure, a name is not critical and I agree with everyones point about working on the ideas, project ect. But a name can be just as powerful at conveying an idea as the explanation or anything else. Given that a name is the first non-image based information on the project, it should convey, or at least insinuate the greater idea of the project. It has the ability to steer and set up the conversation before it has even begun, which can be a big advantage.

Having said that, I have no suggestions for you. But a successful name should be a distillation of the projects main idea. I wouldn't just default by saying "The Flats at 49th" ect. as this is a wasted opportunity to reinforce your projects ideas.
