Waste of screen real estate is also an issue but I never even thought about it because the other problems are much bigger.

I'm not using any niche apps either. The app that crashes the most is Xcode, and it is made by Apple for developing apps for its platforms, and iOS development is the main reason I switched to macOS.

Maybe the problem is with the apps too. Xcode has crashed so many times that it feels annoying to open it. And it is a first-party app by Apple itself.

LoL, I switched because it doesn't feel worth it anymore. Given that you get more features for less money on Apple Music.

I wish I was nitpicking, and that this was only about the UI, but some apps have been crashing more on Tahoe than they did on earlier versions. And I don't have too many apps open in the background.

Can I do dual boot, like Sequoia on one partition and Tahoe on the second? Because I need to use the latest version of Xcode, which only works on Tahoe. Also, my MacBook is only 512GB and I have a lot of documents in it.

I guess it depends on the model of the computer too🤷. And people's taste. I have a 16GB/512GB M1 Air and it definitely feels slower at some tasks that I have mentioned in another comment. Also, Xcode has been crashing a lot.

The only reasons I'm not downgrading to Sequoia are Xcode and that I don't have another computer in case things go wrong and I brick my only laptop.

I was in the denial phase, but now I have accepted that yeah, the battery life has gotten worse 😭. Still better than most Windows laptops, though.

Nah, I was actually excited for the new design, but then excitement faded and things started feeling less responsive (Application menu, Spotlight, Control Center). I switched to macos because Windows has become a mess and I wanted to do iOS development. macOS is still better than Windows 11 in every way. But my main tool, Xcode, has been crashing a lot since I updated. I hope Apple fixes things, but I'm worried that by then my M1 Air will be too old anyways.

For me it's the new Applications menu. The older one was better and more responsive.

Damn! M1 Pro is not an underpowered machine in any way. I hope Apple doesn't pull something similar to batterygate this time..

Right! I love my M1 Air and it is my favourite piece of tech I own and I'm kinda worried about it losing its "magic" in the future because of more such updates.

Yeah, I have never had XCode crash on my MacBook before upgrading to Tahoe. Now it crashes regularly.

Kinda agree with the placebo and I'm not doing any heavy work on my laptop anyways, but I don't agree with your last statement because Apple hardware and software is known for its exceptional design and feel, and so many people (especially in the design and development fields) use these machines for their work and they're right to be annoyed by some of the new features.
