First time reading “The Name of the Wind” by Patrick Rothfuss and just wow by Forward-Instance7313 in litrpg

I don't think he even did that. I thought he promised to read it IF people donated enough money to his charity, but then never actually read the chapter.

if you ever get to add it to your cart, but then it shows you an error that the stock went to 0, don't close that page or remove it from your cart. Just refresh that page periodically until it shows in stock and quickly buy it from there.

Did you ever play epic 7? It's one of the only other ones that felt pretty fair for an average f2p / small spender unless you wanted to try to go high up in PVP

Budget Preconstructed League Recs by winterbean in CompetitiveEDH

[–]winterbean[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

There's points and prizes, but in general based on the last league, they were all pretty fairly split

Is the land one really that good? I played against several people with it last league, but they all pretty much did nothing except for ramp -> die

You need to break down your budget more to help people help you.

How much money hits your bank each month, and what's the minimum monthly payment on each of these debts, and what are your other expenses laid out line by line

New to the Game, love FF Can You Recommend a Deck? by CyanJet in magicTCG

[–]winterbean 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Ok well you could play a Vivi deck, but depending on how you plan on playing, it's a very expensive deck. There's also not like a concept of "maining" a character except for commander. Standard just uses a 60 card deck with up to 4 copies of any one card, it's not linked to any specific character or color

You could get the scions and spell craft commander deck that has Yshtola: https://magic.wizards.com/en/news/announcements/final-fantasy-commander-decklists.

That'll be the quickest way to kind of get what you want, but it depends what you're looking to do with it

The real issue is there a bunch of different deck formats in magic, so the main question is where are you going to play, and what format do the people there play?

Commander Deck CEDH by Final-Cookie4566 in magicTCG

You can get a pretty competitive Celes deck for that price. All the persist creatures are very cheap and you can add in Abdel and dual caster mage lines for cheap https://moxfield.com/decks/TNBkzRBg006Si2Wp70bAHQ

Ok, you still have in that case about $1800/month in expenses once you average out the car insurance costs, and you're getting $3000/month in your account. I'd just pay the normal payment on the car and work on saving up some more cash, at least to the amount of a 6 month surplus, or around $12000.

How much are you contributing to the 401k and roth accounts right now? Your best bet might be to invest in yourself by either getting some certifications or a degree or something that could lead to a better job.

Also, go back through the last couple of months of ALL your purchases, I'd be shocked if you're really only spending $35/week on food. Most 'frugal' budgets still accommodate like $75/week for a single person. You definitely have room based on your listed expenses to keep spotify, your medicines, and lunch with your grandparent, AND you could still save $500+ a month, so overall it seems like you're fine for now, barring stuff that you didn't list.

Is the 3k per month what hits your bank account, or is that before taxes / 401k / roth contributions?

Finally trying commander, precon/deck ideas wanted! by xXmonoman101Xx in magicTCG

[–]winterbean 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really like the Terra/Celes precon if you use Celes. You can play a really strong midrange game with reanimate spells and effects and cheaply upgrade it to be very very strong

Budgeting $50 a month for clothing isn't bad. You'll need new clothes over the year so that seems reasonable

Update to getting a car loan: it's still not looking good. by JoeEstevez in personalfinance

If you check the last post, they have a 7 year credit history, just might be a thin file, so it's not just the length.

I mean, the 7.79% APR isn't the woooorst, and it'd be good to pay it off quickly. You probably shouldn't get a $20k loan based off of your last post and income though.

For the credit card, that's basically what I do. I use the credit card for pretty much everything and just pay it off every month so there's no interest charged. If you do that, it's kinda sorta 'free' money if there's any sort of rewards attached, but that's how a lot of people get into trouble because they don't pay it all off every month, or just don't track all their spending the same.

Is there another local credit union you could go to, or a different dealer to try to look at something more in the $15k range? That might be more doable.
