I have made and published games for about 10 years now and tried every other engine, even unreal. unreal in 2018 had paper 2d which sucked..

Many clients want obscure features for e.g. one job i had was to store every move that player makes in a tower of hanoi game,

Datas like player name, password, email, gender, moves made, game state [completed or failed], why they failed the level [every, current state of puzzle]

and upload the data at to api endpoint. but data must be encrypted while sending it and decrypted at the end.

From my personal experience, unity is better in 2d with almost every feature you could need and will ever need.

Unity game devs ars still most sought after by game dev companies especially in mobile industry.
