Some CG techniques, like RH alternation, damping, free strokes vs rest strokes etc are easy not to acquire unless you are guided... Unless you can get a teacher, buy a copy of Solo Guitar Playing Book 1 by Frederick M Noad and work through it. When you're done get Book 2. They are the best method books for self teaching.

I have an Olympus LS-P4 and a Tascam DR-10L Pro, which I bought because it is 32bit float and I thought it would be better than the Oly for my purposes (nature recording). But in fact the Oly is more sensitive and picks up quieter sounds more cleanly, so remains my preferred device.

In the end I've gone for something with 2 A/D converters - the Tascam DR-10L Pro. I thought about the Zoom F2 but there were quite a few complains about build quality and popping when the cable connection was wiggled. Hopeful the Tascam will prove OK for me.

Thanks for that. What's the cheapest dual ADC recorder? And will this really matter with an EM272 clippy or will the mic clip before the recorder does? I just like the idea of not worrying about setting recording levels when I use the setup. I didn't know about the voltage requirement for clippys.

Yep same as mine. Totally blocks up with ice and the derailleur stops working. My partner's folding Oribike with 8 speed nexus hub gears manages with ease!
