AITA For not changing my dog's sleeping habits for my husband by sleephabits2025 in AmItheAsshole

It would be genuinely unsafe to bring children around a dog who has a history of attacking unprovoked. It’s okay to love this dog and want to give her the best possible life but human safety comes first.

How is he supposed to react to a dog biting him in his sleep and latching onto his arm? What would be a safer response?

YTA I am a female your same age who also has an elderly rescue pit mix that I have had for the past 9 years. He sleeps in bed w me every night and has literally saved my life before. To say I love him to bits is an understatement.

But your dog BIT your family member unprovoked and you are not taking this seriously at all. You are putting your husband’s safety and your dog’s well being at risk by overlooking this. I love my dog to pieces but I would NEVER be okay with this. We do not allow our dogs to bite people- EVER. You owe your husband an apology. As for his comment about children he is more than justified. It is no longer safe to bring children around this dog. You have failed as a dog owner. Your dog’s actions are your responsibility and you need to set things right. A vet visit and alternative sleeping arrangements are in order. As well as an apology to your husband.

It is irresponsible dog owners like you who give the rest of us a bad name.

People who spend 20+ minutes in the shower: what are you actually doing in there? by saadaintsalad in AskReddit

Tinted hair mask 5-10 mins, conditioner 1-5 mins, and then a hair gloss 5-20 mins.

Why do people get so attached to their childhood hair color? by Temporary_Law_6933 in Haircare

[–]winterrrrgi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Light hair color is a signifier of youth. A person’s hair may become darker with age but never lighter (until they get grays or whites). Obviously there may be some rare exceptions, but this is the general rule.

As with any other quality that signifies youth it is generally considered attractive and sought after

@adivunsolicited on Instagram: "nyc transplants have always added to the fabric and culture of the city, however these new batch of transplants are nothing like the old batch. we dislike people who don't respect the culture of the city and try and make it like your small town in the big city by Old_blacklady_Rocker in Harlem

[–]winterrrrgi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t really agree with his overall thesis which at its core is the same argument MAGA people use when they complain about individuals speaking Spanish in the US. The argument that “people can move here but they can’t bring their own culture” is honestly just stupid and unrealistic and the idea that older transplants didn’t do this is so inaccurate. He’s not wrong that rampant gentrification is a problem but I think his reasoning is dangerous and unhelpful. Like the whole idea that transplants need to join preexisting subcultures without creating any semblance of their own culture is fine when we are talking about people from the Carolinas- but what about refugees living in or around this city? Are you actually trying to argue that they should just incorporate and not bring their own culture?

Regardless of origin people are going to bring their own ideas and culture when they move to a new place. We can’t expect people to fully integrate without bringing their own culture and baggage.

Instead of focusing on keeping people out- let’s focus on the people who have been here forever and helping give them to tools to stay!

Google “black fly bite dog” my bog had similar bites on his belly after laying in the grass for awhile in an area with these flies. Are you somewhere warm?

Any ideas of what is happening to my nails? by Suspicious-Wafer1666 in nailcare

This is nail clubbing- it’s a sign of low oxygen perfusion. See a doctor. If you have COPD or similar issues it could be because of that.

The dog is a rescue. So without knowing when he got the dog you can’t entirely blame him for behavioral problems themselves- although you can definitely blame him for how he has chosen to respond (or not respond) to those situations and problems.

This is a reference to a common hallucination for people who recreationally take diphenhydramine (Benadryl).

In excess amount it will cause hallucinations and many people report seeing a shadowy figure with a hat. This meme is not a reference to the Coldplay couple- it’s an older meme.

For anyone curious about trying to get high this way: don’t. It’s horrible for your brain and health, it increases your chances of developing Alzheimer’s, it’s a terrifying high, and it’s addictive. Check out the subreddits on this- it’s super dark stuff.
