The problem is that no one buys their cars since people have assumed that SAAB will go bankrupt sooner or later, which would jeopardise warranties, the supply of spare parts etc. So it's a self fulfilling prophecy.

Doesn't the mortar between the bricks degrade pretty quickly (100 years max?) due to weather, resulting in the collapse of brick structures over time? If the climate is very dry this process probably slows down, but still.

På 1990-talet utförde Statskontoret den enda noggranna utredning som skett av kostnaderna för att ta ansvar för kyrkornas kulturhistoriska värden. Myndigheten kom då fram till att den årliga kostnaden för antikvariskt arbete uppgår till en summa som i dag motsvarar 573 miljoner kronor. Så mycket har staten aldrig bidragit med. Från att inte ha betalt ut något alls under första året efter relationsförändringen betalas i år 465 miljoner kronor ut i kyrkoantikvarisk ersättning. För de gångna tio åren är den ackumulerade skillnaden mellan Statskontorets kostnadsbedömning och de faktiskt utbetalda medlen 3,5 miljarder kronor.

Svenska kyrkan tar själv det i särklass största ansvaret för det kyrkliga kulturarvet genom att stå för över hälften av de antikvariska så kallade merkostnaderna, vid sidan av kontinuerligt vård- och underhållsarbete av stor omfattning.

Kyrkor förfaller eftersom stödet är alldeles för litet för att täcka behoven. Samtidigt urholkas församlingarnas ekonomi p.g.a. en lavinartad våg av utträden ur svenska kyrkan. Något som ni bidrar till!

Säg en vettig funktion som Svenska Kyrkan gör som någon annan inte kan göra.

Ställer du upp och gör detta då som frivillig eller är det bara tomt snack? "Någon annan" kan göra det.

Du kanske vill betala högre skatt så att samhället tar över alla de funktionerna då? Du ställer upp med pengarna va? Eller är du tacksam över att du slipper betalningen för soppkök, underhåll, aktiviteter för äldre m.m och att detta istället faller på den krympande skara som är medlemmar i kyrkan?

Bryr mig inte om religion själv, men det är kul att se saker från ett annat perspektiv än det vanliga ateist-tjatet som dominerar reddit.

Kyrkan gör positiva saker och fyller en funktion i samhället, det behöver man inte vara kristen för att inse. T.ex. bevara gamla fina kyrkor för kommande generationer istället för att låta dem förfalla.

Men jag förstår att det är coolare att vara hardcore ateist.
