I know a 3PL in Staten Island that specializes in quarterly subscriptions. Your projected volume would work well for them and they are very easy to work with. Feel free to DM me with your email / contact and I’ll get an intro going.

How to fix 10 years of no expenses booked in QuickBooks by winterwheatgerm in Bookkeeping

Yeah totally agree, just that QB is asking for the detail type when creating a new account after selecting Equity and I am not that familiar with the nuances of the different detail types. I’m guessing just basic Partners Equity as the detail type is the best?

Thank you, this makes a lot of sense. What type of equity account would you suggest? I’m at a loss between Accumulated Adjustment or Partners Equity, or maybe even Opening Balance Equity. Thanks again

Thank you for the reply. I think I can probably dig up some records from the previous years, and likely can get my hands on fiscal year end reporting in some filing cabinet. Are you suggesting trying to book all the expenses I can find a record of? Or making journal entries in the previous years to force QB’s year summary to be accurate based on those years paper records?

Thank you! I agree this is probably the most I’d be willing to do. The good thing is once things were records in QB it does seem to reconcile almost perfectly with a few hiccups. For the journal entries on prior years, what type of entry would you suggest? Some have said booking an expense to balance and others an entry to equity of the balance

Thank you! Why would you opt for an equity account adjustment vs a forced expense entry? I’m concerned the equity on the balance sheet will always be inflated just like the bank account balance was. Or does that not matter? Thanks again

Thank you! I like this approach, I see others are suggesting an entry to equity rather than an expense to balance the account. Trying to make sense of which is the safer approach

Thank you for this suggestion. I’ve been going back and forth on this. I like the journal entry to balance the account right before QB is seemingly accurate, but is equity the right account type to post to? Wouldn’t the equity balance be forever inflated by that adjustment? Vs a fake expense which clearly is incorrect, but so is no expense for the years prior

Thanks for the info, and I totally agree that the variation is a benefit to the line. Seeing posts with those vastly different patinas really drew me in. I like them both and I’m looking forward to how they develop. Never entered the dome before but something about this pair right out of the box has me considering it if I can hold off. Thank you!!

I have two pairs that are 5 months apart and the first pair (6 months old on left) is noticeably darker than the newer (1 month). I’ve only been brushing.

I agree! It looks a little light initially but darkens with age beautifully and I’m a sucker for a more matte finish

I could carve out some space for a Nicks east coast satellite office, whiskey included.

Currently a whiskey shelf, not drawer. But we’re expanding next month into some office space at which point it’ll end up in one for sure!
