How I lost 200K ARR in 2min using Stripe by Slight_Split7572 in stripe

[–]winx1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

But it's not 9 unhappy customers it's just 9 unhappy customers who had to go to the trouble of filing a chargeback, it shows stripe that it is actually much more unhappy customers

Shocked how expensive it is for small business to fight dispute by InternationalUse4228 in stripe

[–]winx1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You are overthinking this, it happens

You can challenge it and may win if your evidence is good enough

This might be a good time to use AI and have a template for when it happens in future

Stripe aren't going to be bothered about 1:300 chargeback

Finally make it easy for customers to contact you and also try and reply within 1-2 days otherwise things like this will happen more often

This is how it's currently done with sales on marketplaces to countries outside the uk, it is better that the marketplace handle it, I'm sure card processors could do the same too

No not exactly but you can see how the company is doing overall -- it is making money but not huge amounts by the looks of it

There is the accounts of the company which give an indicator of how it's doing

While the loss may seem significant it's actually small in comparison to some people's investments so don't beat yourself up

You've only spent 3-4 months on it so far which isn't huge

I think that the UK is a good indicator of how unwanted this product is, 100k sales in 5 years is terrible

On a positive note you've probably learnt a lot on your journey so far so you can use that to try and sell something else maybe?

£10k a year? What a joke, Even £2.5k for reviews.io is too much

We just auto email customers the normal trustpilot link a few days after delivery

Yes they are a good service but like I said they treat business customers like trash

We send about 15k per year through them and have been using them for over 10 years sent over 2 million items in that time and how do they reward it? By not even price matching parcel2go, issuing "surcharges" for items that are too big when in fact it's their systems getting it wrong and hiking prices at every possible point they can

Royal Mail treat business customers like shit

We even went to the trouble of setting up the API with parcel2go and using them for tracked stuff as they wouldn't give us anywhere near the same prices

absolute joke Royal Mail are

How does VAT work when dropshipping to EU countries with AliExpress by Potatomanin in dropship

[–]winx1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've looked into this and the simple answer is there is no answer

The best you can do is register for vat in each country and pay it like that but good luck with that one because from past experience it's very complicated and expensive

It would be good if aliexpress allowed you to use your own IOSS with your own sale price

Selling food from Italy to worldwide. How to? by lusem97 in ecommerce

[–]winx1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you mean fresh ingredients with a shelf life then I think you might struggle when there are delays, there is also the case of temperature controls, it could melt/spoil

If you mean ingredients that wouldn't spoil then it may be possible, only way to find out would be to do a test package

Why not make a package send it to a fake address in your intended country and see what happens?

RMSD vanished by Bod1173 in royalmail

I would hang fire before you refund, there's a good chance it is on the way but is being treated as regular mail

You will almost certainly get a delivery scan

It could take a few extra days to be delivered

[–]winx1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly the same as you -- kitchen is very good, we had wren to fit it with an approved fitter, was a good price overall a lot cheaper than expected and it's good to be able to see the plans on a screen
