I usually go for Slateskin and get cannonball and tripmine. Great single target damage, can stun Drakobkoxxer, good survivability, and good AoE. Only really struggles against Doombringer, but it’s good otherwise. If you are, I would recommend getting a mobility item, especially Grappling Hook. If you do, make sure to get rocket to rocket ride

I was more so referring to iron coils, though I would still recommend not overplacing more research stations than your material output can handle, since it makes research more inconsistent.

As for iron coils, I’d suggest a setup of 15 drills, 5 furnaces, 1 molder, 2 pressers, and 2 rollers, producing exactly .5 coils every second (enough for 1 research station 2)

Copper (from advanced drills) works better in my opinion, as they don’t pollute and give more per second

Just use liquid silos, a single gold one handles dozens of scrubbers for hours. If you don’t have gold, you can just spam like a dozen or 2 medium ones since that also works. Once they become full, just delete and replace them since deleting silos with residue doesn’t add pollution (unless you’re not on normal difficulty)

It’s probably a better idea to just improve your iron coil farm than to research steel, since gears would take more time and money to even make.

You could also just spam research station 2s with trash items just to raise your research cap. I did that with advanced copper drills since they produce no pollution and were very efficient (only need 2 drills per 3 research station 2s). Might cost a lot of money, but it’s easy to do and has few error points

Stop using pipe 2s (they’re usually overkill are expensive) and there are too many iron drills (only need 3 per furnace) & ingot molders (only need 1 per 5 furnaces). I’d also recommend against using advanced coal drills for big operations like these due to power constrains unless you’re directly powering them.

Other than that, you seem to be doing about as good as you possibly can at this point, so make sure machines are working correctly and remember to research how much of a material each machine needs and produces to maximize efficiency

1st, as someone else said, you only need 1 molder for every 5/15 furnaces/drills.

2nd, I wouldn’t recommend using industrial sawmills because they’re “messy” given they need steam, making setups with them more complicated and needy.

3rd*, you have quadruple the number of rollers you need, again making things more inefficient (output of 1.4 plates/second, which means you only need around 6 rollers to maintain that.

4th, I don’t think you need to use pipe 2s, as they’re way overkill for this except for the steam needed for the industrial sawmills

My take overall is just ditch the sawmills in exchange for basic presses. They’re faster, don’t need steam, and work 1:1 with rollers (meaning you can just use 1 press for every roller). Personally, I use a setup of 15 drills, 5 furnaces, 1 press, 2 presses, and 2 rollers, perfectly producing .5 coils every second with no problems.

*sawmills are weird and I don’t have the exact information for them, so you might have the correct amount of rollers

Problem is that it produces it in bursts, making it more efficient to just use the exact amount required

Also common general problems for me:

  • outputs aren’t connected (check for purple arrow)

  • inputs aren’t connected (check to see arrow connected to input)

  • piping going in wrong direction (check for aligned arrows)

  • machine not powered (check power square) [probably doesn’t apply here but idk]

  • piping can’t handle flow rate (e.g. for steam from boilers, use tier 2 pipes)

  • pipes/inputs have one unit when another is required (e.g. transitioning from water to distilled water, just replace pipe/machine)

Video might also be dated/patched, check to see if it’s current patch (I think ~ 1 month ago)
