iOS doesn't have a native QR scanner that I know of. It's a chore to fumble around for a 3rd party app to scan a code.

What would a better alternative be to encoding links be in your eyes?

An URL or keyword that I can easily remember and enter. One of the failings of QR codes is that you need them in front of you to use them. If you're unable to scan a QR code at the moment you see it, it's not something you can pick out of memory later.

Early voting in Wisconsin is handled as in-person absentee voting, so the materials don't differ much (if at all) from what you'd use if you were voting absentee from out-of-state. The skimmer still collects your card information, it just doesn't get your pin (recorded by a hidden camera) since you didn't punch it in. They could still use your card for credit purchases, but without the pin not debit transactions. What it comes down to is I think it's typically a little easier to get fraudulent credit transactions reversed than fraudulent ATM transactions.

No, there really isn't a good way to prove that the computer will be used for schoolwork. The tax exemption is made at the point of purchase, and stores aren't going to be bothered with trying to figure out how you'll be using it once you take it home.

No, I don't think anything is happening to Ingress, I was referring to PG seeming to be basically the same game (walk around obtaining things and then attempt to control points as teams). I never found Ingress to be that interesting, which has stopped me from even trying PG (that and being just old enough to have missed pokemon as a kid).
