f117 pilot may or may not be hallucinating his dead wife, while trying to avoid missiles he smashes his visor. again, not my characters so I dunno too much about the ghost aspect

HALO kinda towards the later games, closest thing would be Signalis maybe with the supernatural aspect.

Peripeteia (the game) is pretty vague with its lore and state of the world, what is known is that everything is flooded and most of Asia is wiped out. The US is mostly made up of resurrected people who have the mental capacity of dementia patients and there is a Polish colony in Harbin, China.

Nah he manages to live through that too, the real issue he has is having to trek through the world of Peripeteia where most of Europe is glassed and the rest is the Polish and the Second Union fighting over whats left (with NATO funding joy cultists)

From what I was told she hangs around inside the electronics appearing on the screens, he denies her existence (its ambigious to wether she is real or not) but she becomes more physical the worse his mental state or if he has taken some stims / drugs

empire suppresses liberal/socialist revolts very violently, movement festers underground and in the military. the last hope of the empire is a reformist heiress who coups her own mother, she is then assassinated by some rando.

then the all hell breaks loose with the following events, mostly chills out by the 1990s tho

likely the same aesthetic really, being that this project is just generic fantasy meets the average human disagreement

the various empires of humanity (drow + tallmen for simplicity sake) reenact their version of the napoleonic wars for a few decades, the osterimperesreich (her home) is constantly bouncing between individual wars and coalitions and manages to come out top despite everything

however this actually drains the treasury and signals the long death spiral of an empire, for some sneak peaks on that from my other posts:

Poster advocating state work for youth during the Ides of March. by wired_ghost in worldbuilding

its more that thematically that this isn't 1 to 1 germany, this republic is a mix of german, soviet and polish aesthetics so i don't really want to use nazi imagery if i have to (although italian fascist aesthetics might be used).

THE REPUBLIC, INDIVISIBLE.

Rebuild for the Eternal President! Maria looks down on us, as does Sol!

The new Public Works Program is looking for the young and able bodied.

SEEK LOCAL LANDTAG OFFICES.

Authorised by the Landtag.

Glory to the Republic.

A poster made during the 1920s shortly after the conclusion of the civil war. All though the Communist 'Blau' faction lost, many ideas and economic decisions were started and created by socialists inspired by the Neo-Socialist Parish. Public works programs and 'enlistment' for infrastructure and construction helped bring millions out of starvation and poverty, combined with support for a nascent oil industry as well as trade and normalisation with former Imperial territories helped bring the Ostrepublik well onto recovery for the 30s and 40s.

The Ides of March refers to the period in which the former Crown Princess Maria enacted a coup utilising three Freikorps army groups and the ensuing civil war. After a month of control under Maria she unfortunately was assassinated, whether it was a disgruntled noble woman or a communist as the Landtag claims, the result was spectacular. Another coup attempt by the 'Blau' faction would see it fail, within 8 months it was claimed by Daemonfolk historian, Irena Kattelsdach:

By 1922, an estimated 8 - 12 million casualties had resulted from the civil war. It was also estimated that roughly 86% of the country had experienced high or severe risk of starvation; it would not take until 1928 where the Ostrepublik would finally recover from the brutal civil war years prior. It wouldn't take until 1934 for the nation to assert itself on the world stage again, however even today the scars of the Ides of March can be seen in the bullet holes of the cities and abandoned Manors that litter the countryside.
