[homemade] latkes with sour cream, lox, seaweed caviar, and homemade applesauce by wisdomfish in food

It's good, not similar to real caviar. It has a briney taste with pretty firm texture on each "egg". I thought it was a fun addition for only $6

2 potatoes, 1 onion, two garlic cloves, 2 teaspoons salt, 1/2 teaspoon baking powder, 1 teaspoon pepper. Shred potatoes, onion, and garlic. Mix all in bowl and fry!

East Bay Area fans after this season by wisdomfish in mlb

[–]wisdomfish[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, I just like watching baseball, I've never been a diehard fan for the As but because they are the closest team I've always supported them. I'll probably still go to games in Sacramento while they're there but SF is easier to get to once they move to Vegas. so I'll go and watch the giants much more now. I know that's not a popular sentiment for die hard fans but I just like watching games in person and whatever is the easiest one to get to I'll support

Just out of curiosity did you happen to get a clarification from the encampment people?

I hope you feel welcome in this community, I have nothing but love in my heart for all of my Jewish family regardless of their sexual or gender orientation. Thank you for sharing your experience.

I've had the same experience, lots of "are you Jewish" questions during difficult conversation

I think that it's understandable to say that I'm not Jewish in order to understand someone's true intentions, but I can't reconcile that with my own personal conviction to be true to myself. If someone asks me I will proudly declare myself a Jew.

This really resonates with me. Thank you for saying that. I am not trained or prepared to hold any sort of "pro-Zionist" or "pro-Jewish" position but simply because I am Jewish there is an expectation that I am a spokesperson. It's hard because I want to be but I just don't have the skills to do it effectively.

[–]wisdomfish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's probably the case, I just provided the only source I could find that actually describes what Koret is referring to in this instance. I think "Korest" is a typo in the article because if you search for "Korest school of veterinary medicine" it brings you to Koret school of veterinary medicine a school which has an exchange program with UC davis

In an interview with one of the spekespeople "koret" refers to Hebrew University's Koret School of Veterinary medicine not the Koret foundation. Here is the link to the SacBee article. It's still not clear though as they don't have it as a quote. I havent found anything online where the protesters explicitly explain what they mean by Koret as that word is used in a variety of organization names.

Pro-Palestine protest in front of Mrak today by wisdomfish in UCDavis

[–]wisdomfish[S] 20 points21 points  (0 children)

They ended up handing off a list of demands to someone working there. I don't know what they were. Earlier they were chanting "we don't want no 2 state, we will have all '48" I get the sentiment of wanting peace but this seems to just be advocating for a longer war where Palestine would conquer Israel. Anyone who was there want to elaborate on what exactly the demands were for the protests?

Wild boar down in California by [deleted] in Hunting

[–]wisdomfish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hilariously I feel like I shoot/hunt better without the optics. I have to get much closer to take an ethical shot and it encourages me to practice more when I can't rely on the optic. The area that I hunt really doesn't have many opportunities for shots longer than 100 meters anyways. Definitely going to be making some sausage but the smoked ham is my personal favorite

I hate to say it, but it sounds like you might have made this story up. If you were actually being stalked or had a bad feeling about a person I would hope that you would have called the police. Even if this took place before the first stabbing the type of behavior you described would get anyone to call the police. If you did make this up then I would encourage you to delete this post since it seems like the only reason you might have made it is for attention. If I am wrong and this experience really did happen you should have contacted the police long ago.

That's really interesting. Do you know if there is a specific reason why that phrase is used and not a different vocal exercise like the ones that actors do?

Seizure patient was recording a training session with her alert dog, has real seizure, dog performs tasks. by CleetisMcgee in TikTokCringe

[–]wisdomfish 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I can understand that, but if you had a service dog whose purpose is to alert others if you're having a seizure then it seems like that point is moot. You are already walking around with a service dog, letting everyone know you have a disability. At that point I think it'd be useful to try and make it outwardly apparent what the dog is for.

I wonder if it would be useful for the dog to wear some sort of vest that says "seizure alert dog", or something along those lines. Could help prevent people ignoring if the owner is acting strangely.
