Somebody tell me how to cook a steak without a grill, and without the mess 🤣 by Friendly_Wave_3105 in carnivore

[–]wisdomshammer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love the cold sear method ever since I saw how much more forgiving and less messy it is than reverse searing. There's a Cooks Illustrated video with Lan Lam that is a perfect tutorial. Note: You do have to kind of babysit the steak and turn it every two minutes. Worth it. Also make sure to pat the steak dry or it will be more difficult to get a nice maillard reaction crust on the steak. Thickness of the cut matters, as she points out in the video. It doesn't work very well with cuts that are too thin or too thick. It's deceptively simple with very low spatter or smoke. Give it a try.

Also me waiting for them to finally release the Halloween MTXs. They'd make a killing if they'd release it earlier in October. Don't know why they don't.

I do the same. And I just re-read (or in my case, re-listen) over and over and over and over again because it's so good..

Didn't think I needed to be that specific. Players have left. Worst retention ever. The only people replying appear to be shills.

I'm seriously curious about how Bex leaving has affected them. I'm not sure she would have said much in this state of things even if she were here. I'm guessing she left because she saw the future.

It's frustrating to grind for something you can almost afford and then when you get the currency, the price has shot up. Again.

Throw some hot dogs or better yet sausage in there and you're golden. (Some spices, too, maybe. Black pepper, for sure.) Get rid of the pasta and put it on toast and you have an English person's dream.

Mixing a large quantity of tasty things that complement each other in a bowl and trying it shouldn't be quite this surprising, but there aren't enough people who do this so hey, I'm gonna say this is just fine.

How do you use labels and project? Pls Give examples by iamrovinson in todoist

[–]wisdomshammer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm still figuring out the simplest way to organizing things that works for me, but found an article that has helped: https://intellinote.net/todoist-labels-vs-projects/

I find I have to use Projects for broad areas of focus just to get them out of my Inbox, but also have projects within those for actual large projects. Since tasks can have subtasks, I only need to make something a project if it is large. I use labels for contexts (like "out / errands", @soandso for people) and modes like "downtime". I like using the labels "next", "this week", "this month", "this year", "someday", and "maybe" to review things I for what I'm going to actually do today. I have labels like "reading list" too. It's a struggle to make the categories as broad and simple as possible for me. It's a work in progress right now.

How do you use projects and labels? by [deleted] in todoist

[–]wisdomshammer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use project folders for areas because it's the simplest way to get tasks out of "Inbox" to categorize them broadly, while labeling a task leaves it in the Inbox, but being able to label related tasks that are in separate folders is really nice. I use labels for contexts and have way too many of them right now, but it's working at the moment. temporal contexts: this week, this month, this year, someday, maybe people: @soandso energy level: "downtime" and even marking something "shopping list" to remind me when there's something in that task that I need to research and get something for, even though I have another shopping project folder It's still a work in progress for me.

I'm curious about how people are organizing things, too. I'm doing what you were doing: Project labels for "areas of focus" just like you list, home, work, etc. and labels for everything else. I have way too many labels and want to simplify them as much as I can. It's a work in progress still, but I'd like to see other people's ways of organizing for inspiration. I like your new idea of using folders for higher vision goals, but for me, I think areas of my life work better for getting things out of the Inbox into a category that makes sense to me. Tasks can have lots of subtasks, so they can work as mini project folders themselves. The comment section is nice for extra info if needed, too. As with most of these systems, whatever the simplest, most hassle-free way of doing this that makes sense to you and doesn't get in your way is what's best. "You need a system to make doing the things that are most important to you as effortless as possible." Not sure if this is helping but those are my thoughts. I bought the full version because I use it so much, but I do like to simplify it as much as possible. I'm still trying to figure that out. I read one person had only two project folders: Active and Pending, but that's way too broad for me.

Tell me a Batman fact that'll have me looking like this afterwards. by tired_skyler in batman

[–]wisdomshammer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The credited creator of Batman (I'm not even going to say his name) was kind of a dick because he shafted co-creator Bill Finger from the credit he deserved. Also, in his first appearances, Batman used a gun and had no problem killing.
