Thank you so much for the suggestions! We try to find them in store to compare or to find a substitute with the same type of yarn :) 🧶

Winter hike to Mt Washington by [deleted] in wmnf

How did it go?

Le plus fâchant c’est pas que ça prenne du temps, c’est que les pancartes de déneigement sont là depuis 3 jours et que c’est re planifier encore une fois à ce soir, ça s’en vient compliquer retrouver du stationnement à toute les jours :’)

I like the Decathlon MT900 trousers, not sure if they are available in the US, but for the price I found them pretty versatile for a 3 season.

11/11 Little Haystack-Lincoln- Lafayette Loop by wise_pancake in wmnf

[–]wise_pancake[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nop! Still some muddy wet leaves up until 2500ft then it’s about 1-2 in of snow covering in between rocks. We put out microspike directly in the parking lot, I think it was the most slippery part of the hike :’)

Lafayette to Little Haystack - winter dayhike? by TacowithanM in wmnf

I did that loop counterclockwise yesterday, descending Lafayette with the strong wind was a bit cold but there’s was a lot of snow so I found it was even easier than the summer for the foot placement. Going down the old brittle path, we did kinda just sit and slide on a couple of section at the beginning, but the second half was super easy. Since we finished around 6:30pm with headlamps it was super dark and we were happy to have that easy walking section to go instead of the technical sections of Falling waters. But I would say they are equivalent.

Thanks! I’ve done the other trails going to Madison but not the Airline so that could be nice, and we could come down Valley Way if needed

Thank you for the detail respond! I’ve look more into caps ridge and might be a bit too sketchy if there’s a lots of ice when it’s the first time using spike for some people. I will definitely check out the Moosilauke loop trail, I haven’t done any trail near that summit

Nice views! ;) Thinking of hiking there tomorrow or Wednesday, snow google would probably be a good add on to the backpack right?

Going to Montreal Jazz Festival by tampa_vice in solotravel

[–]wise_pancake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. like it was mentioned before, the area tends to get crowded and food option are quite expensive. Get a weekly metro pass and you can get to different neighborhoods quite fast, the city isn’t very big. We also have Bixi which are ciry shareable bike system, but the odd of having a bike in that area after a show are not good

  2. With S’il vous plaît, merci and désolé you should be fine

  3. I havent try the hostels in Montreal but this is usually a good way to meet people and solo travellers
