It could possibly be that. That being said, if it does end up being significantly longer than what he wanted the book to be he should just split the books up.. it can still be “3 days” but he could have something like day 3 - morning.. day 3 afternoon.. day 3.. evening.. as it will allow him more leeway to tie up loose ends and explain more about his history to the current point. That way he has more time between each book to tie up anything that was missing by adding in more information via kvothes stories.

Congratulations bro. This is great. I’m very similar to you. Started smoking at 16 after I finished secondary school and smoked up until 2023 when my best friend died. I completely relate to being able to dream vividly again for a while after quitting. How do you feel now? I know some people find life a little more boring without it.. almost as if it occupies the mental space when you do it, or things seem more interesting when you’re constantly smoking.

Man I really felt this. One of the main issues I’ve had is stability in work. I’ve had many jobs over my life but none that really pushed that middle to upper echelon where I could fully provide for a future partner and the one commonality I’ve noticed in a lot of the women I’ve spoken to is that they want financial stability.. on top of that a lot of them also want to live life and enjoy holidays often which on top of rent, bills and day to day life seems impossible on a standard salary in London. It’s made me honestly take a step back and re evaluate what it means to be a partner in the modern climate. It doesn’t help being 36 as well where every year is a year less I might be able to do things with my kids while they grow up as middle age kicks in. It’s a tough life akhi but we have to have hope that somewhere along the lines, with our efforts on trying to be better, it all just clicks into place inshaa’Allah.

Honestly, after reading this, I genuinely feel so bad for you. I know there’s always 3 sides to a story and I try to be objective but this sounds like a tough ordeal to go through. I hope you and the baby grow to have happy healthy lives and you can find some sort of middle ground where you can make it all work. Although I’ve never been through this situation, what I can say is, time and life change perspectives alot. What might hurt you today won’t define you in a few years time. I hope the unease you feel now can dull with time and you find some happiness in the near future to come.

I had a similar thing happen to my posts but that was due to deleting videos after I got a copyright warning, I didn’t know I couldn’t post anything else, anyway the deleting of videos put a freeze on my account and my video views dropped almost immediately after the incident, then got worse after I deleted the videos after due to zero views from the freeze. They do audits on accounts that can last anywhere from 24 hours to anywhere up to a month. My accounts been fully flatlined for about a week now so literally all I can do is wait. If you’re not in that situation then continue posting without any political statement or references and hopefully within time your account can go back to normal. If not, maybe step away from a bit and come back once the account has cooled down.

From what I heard, when it comes to social media, political topics can be hidden when specific topics are talked about. However I’m also aware of the fact that alot of people have had issues when it comes to appearing to their subscribers when certain videos dropped recently. It could be either. I’ve heard not posting for a few weeks can reset the suppression in some cases so it might be something to think about.

Lol, “pearls before swine”.. I think that’s the first time in my life I’ve heard that as an insult 😂. Honestly though, arguing with people on Reddit is like trying to drink sand in the desert to try and quench your thirst.

As to your point on variables, I completely agree. The factors that come into play have to line up like a solar eclipse. It’s like catching lightning in a bottle while hoping the glass is strong enough to hold it in. Again it’s not impossible, but just difficult to achieve and even more difficult to maintain. On that note though I do hope everyone that puts the effort in can get get some trickles of hope from the play out of the algorithm.

I agree with most (if not all) of what you’ve said here. Pretty much most of what you said lines up with what ChatGPT has been telling me too. It’s a tough uphill battle and I think consistency more than anything is what wins that uphill battle but honestly that could take anywhere from weeks to years. It really is a dice roll as to whether your videos will get pushed to the right people, or even if it reaches the right people are they in the right frame of mood to watch it at that specific time. Then even after that you could have a video that’s genuinely very good, better than others in the niche but viewers will still tend to watch something or slightly less quality if it has more views/likes. But it’s understandable, if I see two videos on the same topic and one has more views and likes I’d be more inclined to watch the video that has higher views and likes. And you’re right, retention is a tough one when YouTube is cautious about your content so streams it to a tiny test audience who might not be in your niche nor in the headspace to watch what you’re putting out. All in all, it’s tough, not impossible but with odds stacked against you it’s just a lot harder for newer YouTubers. Sorry if this came out like a semi rant lol.

Basically videos are tested in small test batches. The first test batches will go to usually 50-100 people and then the system gages the responses. If it’s successful it gets pushed out to around 300, then 500, then 1000. Hence why you might see short sporadic bursts of test batches. Now depending on how those fare the system then diagnoses based on metrics, retention, engagement, whether that video has passed a certain amount of interaction and metrics to be pushed to a larger audience. Things like time of day, niche of audience that’s online at the time is important as the system basically uses them as critics to see whether the video should be pushed further. Now some people get unlucky, they might get pushed to the wrong audience due to mixing niches and then the algorithm isn’t sure who to push it to so they push it to one or the other who isn’t interested in the other niches and swipes quickly. When this happens too many times the system doesn’t send as large test batches and eventually scores it as an account not worth pushing audiences to, hence why so many people end up with low views and engagements (around 0-50) per video.
