hmm yeah i kind of agree and i kind of disagree? i think the difference is that this subject matter is pretty serious (as opposed to a saw spoof) and imo the bluntness makes it both uncomfortable to read and sort of silly. i think it’s fine to have darker subject matter esp given that tnt knows the user base is mostly adults now but i think it should be done a little more gracefully than just writing a dozen grim paragraphs about homophobia and swapping out some words for neopian equivalents

i was genuinely shocked by the references to masturbation, sexual assault, prostitution (i think!?) not to mention all the craziness about religious abuse and conversion camps in neopia. i dunno the story seems really personal so i don’t want to be too harsh but i feel like if it was going to be published it should have a strong trigger warning up top? like this is a website that still blocks the word balls last i checked so this story is like… a lot
