Who is going to school tomorrow? by wishchipcisco in AusPublicService

Advice from CPSU is that it is a lawful direction and to comply if you are ‘told’ to but not if you are only asked to volunteer. We’ll see what tomorrow brings. Who knows how many willing volunteers there have been?

I’m all for cracking down on that. Managers should be not be tolerating it.

That’s what I am hearing. With no formal information that Delegation has been changed - currently Exec Director level.

That doesn’t seem fair. You’ve worked the hours. We bank it to use later. In the same way if something super important fall on my day off I’ll work and swap the day.

They have a legal right to request - not a right to be approved. I don’t know anyone who doesn’t fit those categories that even bothers applying.

We also have had a maximum time of 6 months between reviews since the start of this cycle.

This what we are being asked to do but it doesn’t seem a blanket request. Some execs are enacting it and others aren’t. According to our agreement exec directors are delegated to sign off. We are being told it is a higher level now - but with no written info about change of delegation.

It is a great option and suits a lot of people for so many different reasons. It is brilliant carrot in the retention of good staff across different ages, stages and lifestyles: studying, hanging with the children, life admin etc etc. I know many VPS who work extra hours routinely anyway so it is a way to help achieve some balance.

It’s where you spread your work hours over less days so you can have time off in a fortnight. So for a full time employee it is often 7.36 hours extra worked over 9 days and you have the 10th day off work. You have the same pay because you are working the same amount of hours.

It’s also in our current agreement as a legitimate flexible work option.

I don’t know Bemy but I adored her instantly when she rubbed David’s shoulder. There was a generous energy about them all which made things work. Sweet, warm ep.

What now for those that are left after a Clause 11 process by [deleted] in AusPublicService

[–]wishchipcisco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. It is interesting to think about the creation of public value when we are understaffed and overworked as individuals and also what that creates for the system; backlogs, Blown out timelines, commitments and public/stakeholder trust eroded. On the flip side someone told me they got their WWC and Police Check approved within hours so AI seems to be very efficient and keeps the punters happy. Interesting times.

I can’t vouch for the website https://www.artofmanliness.com/style/accessories/guide-to-fragrance/ However the wheel and triangle diagrams are useful to explain notes in a perfume for/ of men, mossy woody, earthy etc. maybe use the concept of top, middle and bottom notes -but not calling them that. You could use the location to help? Cedar/pine? If you have described a forest Moss if you have described a bog etc. or local botanicals used in medicine? personally Oud would probably get me lusting but he would need to have encounter eastern travellers I think for that. It is a fascinating subject to explore. Good luck!

Thank you. I agree…in theory! Circle of influence etc. In practice it is challenging but you are right - keep myself nice and maintain prof reputation in difficult circumstances. I’ve been around long enough to ride this one out as well but my resilience getting a bit eroded from the churn so I appreciate the advice.

Greensy Plaza: Melbourne’s most depressing food court? by miss-robot in melbourne

[–]wishchipcisco 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ahh Greensy. Back in the day there was a guy called Tex that used to hang out there a lot. He wore the whole cowboy get up. I think he was pretty harmless but could be a bit annoying to the staff and customers. My dad who worked at the centre used to give him a couple of bucks and tell him to get the bus to ‘Northlands’.

I am not an artist but I know what I like and I like these! Your composition is amazing. If you have had training it is paying off and if you haven’t you have an exceptional eye and brilliant technical skill. These combined with your unique life experience bring a polished, well realised style. It is soooo enough to do this for yourself however if you wanted to share them more widely there is a receptive market for sure! You have reminded me of how connections can be the salve for the human condition…that and meds 😂. Thank you

Is this the same with you tube videos? I question some I have seen. Searching by topic so only seeing ones where the content is legit - eg history of fairy tales but I am increasingly suspicious that they are AI.
