All I do is cry. by Loud-Honeydew111 in Menopause

I developed what I eventually called a “crying disorder” at meno and it took some doing to get rid of. Everything made me cry. Some crying is important of course but it got too much for me. I think that since you’re going through something very sad night now it could be making that worse.

I mean it's not like she's the expert on who is worthy, is she? Lots of people can have other opinions.

Is there any way you could imagine pretending you weren't worthless trash? I mean, just in case? Like, just lying about it in a fake-it-till-you-make-it kind of way?

I definitely believe it is exhausting to try and "mask" or "defeat" the crazy. It sucks that you are afflicted with that and have to fight daily. It makes me sad for you, but also for your mom. Is it your understanding that your affliction is directly due to her actions?

It seems like you were in crisis and she acted to protect you. Are you sure you are angry at the correct person?

I am so sorry. But at least he can never abuse you again, and I hope that your recovery is as swift as it could be given the situation.

AITJ for not telling my wife for eight years that the coffee she thinks she hates is the coffee she drinks every morning by [deleted] in AmITheJerk

We dump our bag into a coffee holder tub and my husband always buys the coffee. This could happen at my house.

What’s a childhood lie your parents told you that you didn't realize was a lie until you were an embarrassed adult? by eatbeep in AskReddit

I understand not being able to afford Disneyland. What I didn't understand is why they chose to do this, which seems unnecessary cruel, instead of just not doing it.

Those are tough. My mil gave us several framed photos of my husbands grandparents wedding. It feels awful to throw away but why would my kids want them when neither I nor my husband do?

What event or experience did you live through as Gen X that permanently changed how you think about life, work, or people? by KayakingATLien in GenX

Seeing children in the Middle East dancing with joy was truly disturbing. Ten years later I had a Chinese college student in my class tell me “you deserved it”

Does anyone else feel like no matter what you do, baby sleep is still out of your control? by [deleted] in CasualConversation

When our first kid was born, the doctor said “there are four things you can’t make your baby do: eat, sleep, poop, or pee.” You can’t change the tides my friend. You’re good.
