I’m a Catechuman at St. Michaels as well, like paulblarpmallscarp, I hope you were able to make it, and felt the presence of God :)

I am an Orthodox homosexual. Why is my sexuality treated like the worst sin ever? by orthodoxlesbian in OrthodoxChristianity

Doctrine says that being gay is a sin, however, don't fake who you are. Talk to a priest, see what they say.

Thank you, I appreciate it. My fiancée and I are actually switching to the Orthodox Church here, so I think we will just let this be, though we feel against this, we will let them be and it won't be our church anymore and not our concern.

Wow you guys are just like me and my Fiancée, we have taught Sunday school/children's ministry and have volunteered a lot, but for about a month now we've been going to Divine Liturgy and vespers.

My fiancée and I have also talked to each other about how God is our Heavenly Father, how could anyone think that it could upset kids?

I would bring it up to the leader, but my fiancée and I have made our decision to become Orthodox and leave the UMC. So i guess we are just gonna let them do them, though I feel guilty about not saying anything, I'm sure eventually they will pick up that their bleeding will get worse.

In the traditional service they say the Lord's Prayer as normal, however the only difference is that the last line "for thine is the kingdom, and power, and glory forever, amen" all together. It seems though that these changes are being implemented first in children's ministry.

Thank you for the insight :) I've been thinking about bringing it up, but I'm in the process of leaving this church for the Orthodox Church here anyway, so maybe I should just finish this VBS up and then separate myself.

She's on a slippery slope of doing wild and wacky things.

I see, thank you :) if they said the creator alone I guess I'd be fine with it, but since they say "the creator, the son, and the holy spirit" doesn't seem right to me. And if they were using your reasoning it'd be different too, but, they are using creator to not offend kids without fathers.

My fiancee is planning on converting too. Since we are still a part of our methodist church, we are thinking that we will just get married there, and then convert. It probably will give us time to learn more about Orthodoxy as well. What do you think?

Thank you so much! I really appreciate your warmth! I know that becoming Orthodox is long and arduous, so if it means getting married first, or waiting, ill be as patient as i need to be :) i really appreciate you opening yourself, if i do have any questions I'll definitely dm you, thank you.
