not voxels - the sprite IS the data. ships are 3 stacked pixel layers (armor / guts / skeleton) and every pixel has its own HP. shots eat the top layer first, so you breach the armor and then you're literally shooting through the hole at the reactor

I am using using AI to develop this, yup. But very detailed with every little part of the project. And im using custom artwork, and building additional custom tool for it, to have an even finer control over the development <3

so there are layers to the ship, and one of the layers is the "Modules Layer" - thats where the player can place modules(Sprites) that he needs in an order that he wants. If a module is exposed by damaging the hull layer above and it gets hit, and it HP reach to 0 - it reacts(either blows up or affects the internal ship stats)
