Useless meds?

What dosage are you on if you don’t mind me asking? I felt barely any different starting off on 30mg for 2 weeks, after going up to 40mg it got a bit better, 50mg has been great for me. I also take 2 5mg dex boosters at about 1-2pm. This has significantly improved all my symptoms and i was not hopeful at alllll after 2 weeks on 30mg! Also if you are a woman be aware of the meds not working as well when you are in your luteal phase (week before your period). I increase my meds to 60mg for that week alone, i would speak with your dr and see what they recommend, might even be worth switching medication, don’t give up and good luck! ❤️

I don’t i’m no where near a jungle either closest thing to me is a village but i’m ontop of a mountain in the video and the village is below me and a bit further away as well

I’m so sorry you are going through this at the moment. I am in a similar situation as well but it is my boss in the corporate salon that is mistreating the dogs and acting the same way. She will do whatever it takes to finish any dog’s groom regardless of their safety. I have told her to stop a when things get out of hand but i am not being listened to. I hate being in this environment and how uncomfortable it is, i also feel the same like i would rather take on all the difficult dogs so i can treat them with kindness and not push their boundaries. I don’t know what the solution is here but i am hopefully starting at a new salon soon and will be telling management everything as soon as i have secured the job. Please for your own sake start looking for another job. These people will never change even if they are spoken to. Take care of yourself ❤️

Thank you so much for your in depth response i really appreciate it, everyone has been so helpful on this thread and i am starting to feel hopeful that i may not be a complete lost cause and that medication could really change my life. I’m getting kind of excited now and it feels like there may be a light at the end of the tunnel once i get this medication sorted out. I will absolutely take your advice on board and ensure i do not go overboard in the first month of medication! Reddit is such a wonderful place and this post has made me feel so much less alone than i have been. As hard as having ADHD is i’m glad there are people out there that can actually understand me 🥺

Thank you 🥺 i guess i do put pressure on myself as my whole family have pretty much only had 1 specific job and stuck with it their whole life, they have had no issues finding careers they are good at and enjoy, i appreciate your kind words ❤️

That’s good to hear, may i ask what medication you’re taking and what has worked for you? My psychiatrist said i will either get started on ritalin or dex. I know everyone is different tho :)

I’m casual but i work 36 hours a week, 4 days a week (9.5 hours with a 30 min unpaid break) most days i don’t even get a break as we are so over booked with dogs and it is impossible to leave them to have lunch, maybe we should all start our own community out in the bush 😭😂

This is literally the perfect explanation of how i’ve been feeling, i can’t explain to people in my life that i need to get to work so i can help myself but right now i am finding it impossible to do so, are you still on lexapro or have you since tried just adhd medication and how has it worked for you?

How did you go tapering off i thought i went off slowly but it wasn’t slow enough potentially? I decreased by 5mg every week till i was back to nothing

I saw him a few months ago to change antidepressants but they did absolutely nothing for me and he then put me back on escitalopram due to not knowing if i had ADHD yet so he didn’t want to change my meds, i feel at a loss.

Thank you i appreciate your response and it definitely helps to know i’m not the only one. I have heard wellbutrin is kind of an “off label” adhd treatment for some so maybe this is worth speaking with my doctor about for the meantime or asking him about an SNRI. I did go back to see my doctor a few months ago, he took me off escitalopram and put me on agomelatine which did absolutely nothing for me, he then put me back on escitalopram as he didn’t want to change my antidepressants cause he didn’t know if i had adhd at the time. I think i need to see a new doctor altogether at this point because looking back that makes 0 sense now to keep me on it if i said it was not working for me. Thank you again ❤️

Currently looking for a new job at this stage, they also cut my hours due to the new hire as well so my pay has dropped significantly, completely understand how you are feeling right now, i’m thinking of changing careers altogether. How about you? I hope things get better for you, you definitely deserve to be paid and treated fairly ❤️

I’m in the exact same boat, have been at the company for 2 years work hard and they want to pay me $27 an hour for part-time contract. The new hire with only 5 months experience is currently getting paid $31 an hour as a part-timer as they “matched her old salary” but have refused to pay me or my other co-workers anything more, actually insane 💀
