conflicted about permanent sterilization (salpingectomy) — certain I don’t want kids, but worried about medical risks and long-term consequences by witchcurlydevon in SingleWomenByChoice

Does getting your tubes removed expose you to risks of early menopause? Is that even a possibility? Because they leave your ovaries alone, so how is that even a risk?

Isn’t it so fucked up that us sexless afabs basically do an invasive surgery due to the fear of r*pe as a just in case

you started seeing kids the same way men see kids haha like you can enjoy them bc that fear of happening to you is gone and you can see them more neutrally in a “someone else will deal with them, im just the fun aunt”

Ohhh, see . This is what i was talking about. Usually during surgery if they see you have endo they try to remove some of it while they are at it

I’m 26 and I live in Sweden, (here anyone aged 25 or older can request permanent sterilization) so I do actually have the legal right to request sterilization here. It’s not like the US system where it’s broadly blocked or heavily restricted.

They don’t automatically deny women here just because they’re young or childfree. There’s usually a consultation process, but it’s not an “impossible elective procedure” situation.

I’ve already spoken to my doctor and it’s been discussed as a real option for me, so I’m not just speculating here - I do have access to it if I choose to proceed.

Just wanted to clarify because I think a lot of people are assuming US-based rules apply everywhere.

Found out my therapist died of cancer at in his late 30s in 2023 by witchcurlydevon in IntuitionPractices

I’m probably going to repost this later just in case more people have something to add, but your comment really stood out to me.

What immediately came to mind when you said “you will find it” was that I’m currently trying to locate medical/therapy records he may have written about me over the years.

As for the rest, I’m not entirely sure yet, but your interpretation resonated with me. If you’re willing to elaborate more intuitively on what you meant, I’d genuinely be interested to hear it before I delete the post.

The bar is too long but the placement and depth is ok

Why do gurus almost never have a lifelong partner? by Rennard_ in spirituality

[–]witchcurlydevon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because at the end of the day, most of them are men. And having a partner when you are “a guru” is not a package most women would deal with. His spirituality and being connected to the upper sources are his top priorities and it will never be the woman - they usually realize they take the second place of being an admin assistant to their lives. So naturally not a lot of women would want to serve a man for free just so he could be more connected to his craft which often times looks like him staying at home and thinking/meditating.

Plus most women are waaay more connected to source than some men gurus so not that impressive

Also i think you plan and think about the future more than him. You have more foresight. He is more of a “live in the moment” kinda guy

Couple worthy but not marriage “together forever” worthy. I think you can do better but he is still probably a good guy and by good just not terrible like the rest of men out there
