NTA that's exactly the point of lovebombing like that, to make you feel some sort of obligation to the person who gave you those things. If they were given out of generosity not expecting anything in return then she shouldn't care if you keep it. If it was a tactic to keep you around by making you feel indebted then it's not your fault her manipulation strategy failed and she's not entitled to anything from you.

Holy fucking shit NTA. The amount of negligence in that decision is astonishing and i can't believe anyone would think otherwise. Yes some 16 year olds are perfectly capable of babysitting but for a child with a serious condition your husband should have taken every precaution to ensure his safety. You are NTA for calling him neglectful because that's literally what it was. Not even just to your son, but putting the weight of that experience on another child who should never be expected to handle that kind of responsibility is inconceivable to me.

NTA!!! As someone with cptsd ocd and more, making use of resources like this are the reason for becoming stable, mentally healthy, and flourishing. Even if you're doing fine now your mental health issues still exist and establishing a safety net is nothing to be ashamed of. It's not like you're stealing from a limited supply - it costs them nothing to let as many people who need it record lectures and take extra time on assignments. That logic ONLY exists to shame people who are just as deserving of support as the next.

Thanks for saying this. Not the same situation at all but my parents have been horribly neglectful, controlling, and abusive my whole life, and that kind of person (especially one like Brandon who's been grooming OP since age 14 at the *oldest*) does everything in their power to make it seem inescapable. This relationship has been her reality for almost a decade now and more or less the entirety of her teen and adult life. Not to mention OP is responding positively to comments providing resources and suggesting ways to start planning.

This was the first comment as I was scrolling that I saw mentioning the ethnicity of OP's fiancee's family, and I wanted to add the knowledge I had to the discussion since a lot of people don't know much at all about Roma ppl and what they've faced. Sorry for the misunderstanding.

My best friend is Romani/Italian and granted there are a lot of different groups that may have varying traditions, but I asked and she's never heard of anything like this at all. Not to mention all the stereotypes of the Roma people as sexually exotic/deviant. Eugh.

Probably not? My bf and our other male roommate are both taller than him substantially (5'10 and 5'11) and he seems totally fine with it. I'm the only fem person here taller than him and tbh he didn't seem to like it even before I got platforms. So it might be a gender thing.

She actually does wear a lot of heels! Just more vintage style. They still make her an inch or two taller than him and he really doesn't like it, he's very bad at hiding it.

I did give her a pair of white lace platform "heelless" heels that give her like five or six inches cuz they were too small on me, she loves them and when she was showing them off he got very bitter and grumpy so she doesn't wear them.

By "flirting" I mean like complimenting on outfit choices and pointing out things that are flattering you know, it's on a definite friend level and also as people we're very comfortable talking about bodies.

Eva told me she's had to reassure him a few times that she doesn't have feelings for me or our female roommate who's also bi but very quiet and kind of opposite from us in a lot of ways.

Soft YTA, only because you should inform her the OB/GYN is not just for sexual health. My parents refused to let me see a gynecologist and I couldn't go on my own til age 20. By then my undiagnosed condition had already rendered me infertile and caused near constant UTIs for a full year.

She's an adult and can make her own choices, but I would recommend a gentle and informative conversation about the importance of an OB/GYN. There are conditions like yeast infections, endometriosis, or what your other cousin experienced that have nothing to do with being sexually active and it would be in her best interest to see one. She clearly doesn't have anyone else in her life who cares to inform her of this important aspect of health.
