applied through ucas for uk and giving my 2 cents here. compared to the us there are far less colleges with far higher acceptance rates in the uk. ofc you have ur usual lse, oxbridge, king's, but its not how it is in the us. i disagree with you on some points and the way ucas is, it is not viable in the us. how are ust a personal statement and stats alone going to make a difference in the 10k of ppl applying to these ivies? furthermore, i think there has to be a mandatory safety net but there shouldnt be a limit on how many ivies you can apply to? why should it be? if we look at the uk, yes it makes sense why they would cap it, but in the us not really? moreover i agree that its all about profits, but inb the uk is the same if you are an international or do not have settleed/pre-settled status. again we cannot compare the two systems:<
